Sugar Cane Denim

^ as a person that owns both LVC 47 and SC47 I gotta say I love my SC47 way more. Trumps my LVC in quality and construction, but also fits me much better. The LVC 47s are almost slim straights and I can't even get my thighs in em anymore.

I hear that it's cheaper to order directly from Japan. Do you have any advice as to how and where? I'm going to order type i 1947 no-wash in size 29 which is 29.9 inches measured.

You can get them off Rauten only problem is returns if you are unsure of sizing. My 1947 type II fit a little snug at TTS. I'm veryhappy with the fit,

Any folks have good things to say about the Sugarcane Garrison belt (particularly the natural one)? In the market for some new hardware and like the look of it. Evo pictures most appreciated.

The old garrison belt is an alright belt, but slightly thinner compared to some others out there, usually measuring at 5 mm thick.

The hardware ain't too bad, and it's a pretty good price for a hand-stitched belt from Japan.

I don't like the look of the newer, "aged" versions they released this year...though I haven't handled them in person yet.

Nice fit! Is that TTS or a size down?

I bought TTS. The cut seems to be the same as the Okinawas I own (same size), and the Hawaiis I used to own, but nothing like the Okinawa Rainbows I used to own. Those were super loose fit. And, after looking at the type II back up the thread, mine are definitely the type I. Nothing lightweight or slim cut about mine.

See what you guys think about this plan for the 1947s: I think I'm going to keep track of number of days of effective wear and hand wash/drip dry after every 40 wears. This will take time, as I will be alternating with my Okis.

Just went down to The Denim Store (Singapore) today. Prices for canes are pretty cheap compared to most online stores I've seen. They got almost every standard canes except for Okinawa. Not sure about the available sizes and washes though.

What's the sizing like for the 1974 Type ii? I'm a true 33 waist, was thinkig going true to size if I pull the trigger. Maybe a 34?

edit: actually, are the ones on supra-quintessence one washed? The measurements seem like they are.

So tempted, but I'm in no position to do it... My Hawaiis still have YEARS left and so does my 47. I should really just hold off and get a pair of Okinawas

Definitely do the Okinawas when it's time. The combination of the sugar cane thread and left hand twill makes them truly unique, and they can get a lot of different looks depending on how you care for them.

Personally I'm working towards a streaky, summery fade.
