You're making my day.

I just can't stop watching your incredible hardcore worn in raw denim project.

Do you have a backside pic too?

Whatever you do with them, even if you break them in more:

They already have reached the Holy Grail Status by far!!!

I haven't posted any progress pics of my 710's for quite some time because, well, frankly there has been no progress. It would appear that i am afflicted by the condition known as cantfadeforshititus.

However I washed them yesterday - after my recent trip to the estuary they were covered in sand and salt water spray - and lo:

Well, its something....

Watch out Max, Cander, Nizzel, Raindogs, louisbosco and all you other big faders - that's right, im coming for YOU  :angry2:

hahahahahahaha!

edit: in the spirit of full disclosure i feel obliged to add that these are a good 10 months old.....

Thanks. I just asked, because the 19 oz is normally fading real quick. Good thing, that denim also gets beautiful just by washing it a lot, you don't need sharp fades and creases to encounter its beauty. I notice the streaks, slubs and vertical falling every time I Switch back to that denim.

Ha ha! Yep, it's totally me... When I first got into this last year I went all 'kid in a candy store' and within not very long had 2 pairs of Samurai, a pair of PBJ's and a pair of 3 sixteens. Considering I can only wear at eves and weekends, hard fading was never going to be an option rotating 4 pairs!

I don't mind though, I've got time...

Mind you , with a pair of full counts on the way and the new 3sixteen kibata in the pipeline, I don't see my fading ability improving any time soon.

Edit:

Totally hear what you are saying about the 710xx denim - amazes me every time I wear them.

Are you thinking of retiring them before they turn into shreds? might be worth considering ;)

Not until the end of the contest. :) You are right though... I wish the contest was done sooner, so I won't have to ruin them in the name of completion. Haha.

Thanks, Ruedi! It's cool to get comments like that from you of all people! I will definitely keep these around and never throw them away. I'll take more pics of the back soon!

The wash didn't beat them up anymore, but sadly, didn't get them all that clean either. Haha. Oh well.

Hey Foxy, while you're around could you share with me your thoughts on the SJ42CP?

Been looking at them for what seems like forever and I feel like I might be ready to order a pair.

Looking at BiG's size chart the new run is about an inch bigger that previously, which is still an inch under tagged size.

My only concern with the cut is the rise which seems quite low. I'd really appreciate any info!

Am also interested in the SJ42CP.. How do they fade? How do they fit? I am wearing S710XX 15th Anniv size 32, and the fit is now a bit tight on the top block (guess i've gained waist size in recent months).. should I size up to 33? or should I go with 32?

Really appreciate any info!

Edit: Foxy just saw you had a pair of these in a size 33! Do you still? Could you give measurements? If they run a little big and they're a straight cut, they could very well work for me... I'd need them to be at about a 32 post wash on the size 32 though :/

S5000-KA W33

Waist - 17"

Leg Opening - 9"

Front Rise - 10.5/10.75"

Great fabric - pocket entry has me trying to get used to it - certainly something different than jeans...front rise is not a problem for me.

Awesome, I look forward to some pictures!

Rise measurements on BiG looked a bit low, but what you posted isn't bad at all.

Well, the sizing for this model has been off from the start...

Technically, it's a twill and should stretch similar to most jeans. I can't say that I have noticed significant stretch so far, but that might be due to 2 reasons:

- haven't worn it that much, yet

- the waistband construction is different - no attempt stretching it, yet

I know that they did produce at least another run/lot after mine - maybe they have adjusted the measurements?

BTW - both posts have been edited for pics.

Wow, that kakishibu pair looks amazing.

And I appreciate your thoughts on the 42CP, based on the new measurements it looks like the new run is a bit bigger in the waist.

I'll likely order a pair form Yuichi in a few weeks time. Just want something a little different!

Would be surprised if the newer lots would be bigger - would expect them to be the same or smaller.

Anyhow, ask Yuichi to measure them for you or confirm the expected measurements upfront.
