Samurai Jeans

I love the fact that samurai's inseams are long. My legs are very long and the 38 inseam is perfect for me, but I'm aware that if (and when) I get a pair and do an initial hot soak to get some shrinkage over with, the inseam will shrink. By how many inches will the inseam shrink?

The inseam shrinks max to 36. how tall are you? im 6.5 feet ( 2 meters ), and mine are definetly long enough

This thread really needs some action...

I see a lot of sizing questions, but no real picture-deals or sweet detail shots...

Where's to love for the denim gone?

how did u tell them how much to taper since its kinda hard to see the fit before u taper them? do they just taper to what they see as appropriate?

i'm guessing you just tell them what you want your hem to be and they taper a specified point downwards (ie. knee down).

on another note, does anyone know how much the hem on a pair of s710xx 19oz (or similar denim) will shrink after a hot soak?

how much do these stretch in the waist/thigh?

thanks

I was just wondering which Samurai model has the skinnier fit. The Samurai 15oz S0500XX or the Samurai 19oz S710XX. I have really skinny legs and am trying to achieve a skinny fit (I am sizing down 2). Thanks.

the S710xx is skinner... i don't have these myself, but the thread here does not recommend sizing down 2. and i quote...

Additional Sizing Info (courtesy of dino might!)

710- true to waist size for nice, manly, slim/straight silhouette (HIGHEST RECOMMENDED METHOD). one down if you have more of a skinnier-than-average-build (model chic). two only if youre nuts and want skintight 19oz jeans to hold you up when youre tired of standing on your own (SERIOUSLY NOT RECOMMENDED) (this all based on the lot 10/tagged size=raw waist size jeans) ***ATTN: SUFU FASHIONISTAS- IF YOU ARE IN THE MARKET FOR A SKINNY FASHION FORWARD SLOUCHY JEAN TO WEAR WITH YOUR SWEET HIGHTOPS AND LAYERED RO FISHNET TANKS THIS IS NOT THE JEAN FOR YOU*** (neither are any other samurais for that matter..)

dino might's sizing information is spot on, do not go against it. but, with "really skinny" legs, 710XX might not be the cut for you -- it's not THAT slim, it's just slim by samurai's standards. alas, it is the slimmest samurai currently offers. the 0500XX is similar but i believe it has a higher rise, slightly fuller hip/thigh, and more taper.

really? the s0500xx has more taper than the s710xx? i was comparing two pairs

s710xx size 32 (actual waist 33) -- hem was 8", knee 9"

s0500xx size 31 (actual waist 33) -- hem was 8.25", knee 9"

this is from BiG, but maybe this isn't how you determine taper?

departing from the sizing advice isn't a death sentence for your fit. it's right on for someone of average build (because it's advice for everybody). my 710s (lot 10) came out to be sized down 1.5 - 2" and fit great, but i'm tall and have thin legs. i'll post fit pics in a bit.

and i was under the impression that 710s are more or less tapered 510s with different denim
