Kiya, Would you carry the diamond & dots short sleeve? That shirt is dope!

No, we weren't into the big chest tag the short sleeved version comes with.

Self Edge x Globe Specs Cozumel Sunglasses

With our first eyewear collaboration we've come together with Globe Specs to reproduce the exact pair of glasses which Hunter S. Thompson wore on his famed trip to Cozumel (Mexico).

The Uno is the exact reproduction while the Dos and Tres are slightly modified with our take on the original frame.  All the materials are made in Japan and custom produced just for this capsule collection.  With titanium and hand-finished acetate used as the primary materials you're sure to have a sturdy pair of frames which will last you years.  Each pair of glasses comes with an original artwork printed dust cloth and a branded carrying case.

These are limited to 200 pairs total worldwide and are only availble at Self Edge and Globe Specs Tokyo.

Will you guys get iron hearts SI's when they drop?

What is that?

Holy moly, what a fantastic idea & execution on those glasses.

Thanks!  It was amazing working with Tetsuya from Globe Specs on this project, he was born to work in the eyewear industry.  His knowledge of production, fits, and classic styles is very impressive.

Finally picked up my ducks today at SEPDX. Tyler is one cool fucking guy and I've honestly never experienced such amazing customer service. Thanks again

Glad you enjoy working with Tyler, he's A+++++++

the company director is almost a father figure whose duty to to look after his work force rather than exploit.

nice post overall, but this particular statement is a mostly incorrect and hugely romanticised western view of japanese work culture as a whole.

why in the fuck did they fail to mention the jeans you are wearing in "His Details"? I cannot grasp that omission.

I have no idea.. i found it quite odd, especially considering it's on the back cover of "The Denim Issue".

Your online store seems to be outta Roy ducks (or any ducks)... Can u reccommend a brand or at least let me know if any of your locations have a size 30? Thanks

We are sold out of the size 30 of the Roy ducks at all stores and there won't be any restocks of that model.

dope looks K; also, self edge never stocked the shirt you're wearing there right ?

Yup, it was in-store only at SESF for this summer.

Yeah, this can't be overstated.  When you're working with 50+ year old machines where any part that needs to be replaced involves a scavenger hunt that can involve weeks of time and tons of $$$, something as simple as changing SPI can be a nerve-wracking and incredibly time consuming operation.

Having watched Roy Slaper do the chainstitch embroidery demos at Denimbruin this year it is quite amazing that he does this on all his jeans. The effort it takes to set up this machine alone is huge. Then to work it is a physical feat of energy and co-ordination. This is just one of the machines involved in producing his jeans and all his machines are old and cranky and need a ton of care and attention to keep running.

Mister Freedom's Okinawa CPO Shirt & The Sugar Cane 2014 Slim Tapered Jean

We've got two new items from Toyo Enterprises today, both of which have been long overdue for us...

Mister Freedom has done a new version of his legendary denim CPO shirt which originally came out as part of the Fall/Winter collection of 2008.  This new version uses a different unsanforized denim and includes some very nice detailing on the placket and pockets.  Once sold out these will not be restocked.

Sugar Cane brings us their slimmest fit in their line-up with the new "2014" jean, made of a one-washed unsanforized denim which we've been selling on their "2009" jean for a few years.  This fabric starts off comfortable from day one and ages well over time due to it's unsanforized nature and pure indigo-dyed warp yarns.

The Mister Freedom CPO looks incredible, that denim......

It's so damn good.  He knew that if he released a new version of a CPO shirt he had to do it right, and he did.

is that exposed selvage on the placket?

Yup, same as the Patrol chambray shirt from last season.  The construction of the placket is pretty amazing and how the edge of the fabric is used so that it doesn't need to be finished near the hem-line.

Damn K, both look epic! I have been waiting for SC to do a slim cut in their denim, good for summer yes?

Yup, this jean is perfect for summer wear.  Sugar Cane is so good at getting fits right and this new jean is a good example of that.

Product description of the SC2014 seems to be the same as that of the 2013 - might want to look into that.

Will this jean be in stock at SELA?

Yes, it's in stock now at all stores.
