Now, the long and boring wait begins.

May it be filled with unnecessary purchases.

Or you could just wear and enjoy your current pairs of jeans, that's what l'm doing. Joy wearing, l highly recommend it!

Unless when you said ' unnecessary purchases', you meant nappies? 🤔

try cleaning no.1 and no.2 [not evisu code] from your favourite carpet or other soft furnishings (your bed...)...

nappies are the most crucial purchase...

but yes; now is the time to find the right jkt [or 3] for the tux...

I'm at a point where I'd love to break in a new pair (from storage), but I really don't need to. It's a good exercise in staying with everything currently in my closet. My OA's are feeling frustratingly slow right now! It's a little challenge to see just how good they can get in the last 3 months or whatnot.

I'm mostly wearing a pair of 01's (4-5 days a week, while other days are in a random assortment of more worn things). They're fading a little bit, but honestly probably don't have more than 4-5 months total wear yet. But I hope they're in a good place by the time we get going.

My WW2 pair, and my Holk (02 cut) are still in the plastic bags!

I used to be unable to stick to one pair of jeans for any extended period of time. However, I've worn my LB40s 5-6 days per week since I received them in January. The timing is actually pretty nice as I'll be putting them to the side at the one year mark for the contest. I'm feeling confident that I can be just as disciplined for the contest pair which I'm excited about because I've never faded a pair for 18 months straight.

Love that!!! Will be proud to wear that for 18 months and beyond!

Will have to work out how best to preserve it against the stresses of washing and drying and the detergents etc

(anyone got any good tips on that I'd be all ears!)

I find that preserving the leather patch depends on a couple things: leather used, stamped branding vs paint / ink branding.

Obenauf’s (what I’ve used before) or some other leather preservative can work well with stamped patches (ie: iron heart), but can smear patches that are painted/inked. Keep in mind, a leather preservative will change the color of the leather.

My advice - embrace the aging of the patch as that goes with the territory and don’t boil the patch and turn it into jerky… boiling water is the worst enemy to leather patches, IMO.
