Just confirmed with ryo he'll send the hemming scraps from my jeans with them for patches and about 8% shrinkage lengthwise, so going for a small break 80cm inseam, or worst case small cuff, with a rigid 88cm inseam.

just finalized my order specs
jeans one wash W 36 inseam 82 cm for a double cuff or a folded cuff. I hope on long term the one wash hem will deliver the usual crazy roping!
jacket 42 against Ryo suggestion (he said 44) these Japanese fellas don't understand Euro jacket sizing.
Jacket is going to fit well. I can fit the 30s in a 42 and that's much smaller. Plus 42 had desired overall length ; )

actually that BIG 660 was hugely oversized.

I'm not entirely sure yet which size to get; 31 sounds more comfy than a 30 but might cause hip flare

decisions!

I'd say hip flare is the last of problems because the silhouette is trim through the hips, if you size up the waist may end loose but I believe the hips won't be too big.
I'm speculating over the charts though!

I haven't done any of this until today but I think we're on the home stretch now!

For my dimensions, the thigh is the critical - and constraining - measurement

Got til the 30th to conclude…

For a comfortable 34W (I could just fit a 33), the WW2 rise is great but the thigh would be skin tight

To get thigh to fit, would need to size up to 36, giving a slim-ish thigh, with 5–7 cm extra on the waist, also potential for stretch on top.  38W wouldn’t work.

For comparison, my TCB 20s 34W have a 34 thigh, the WW2s 36W have a 33.8 thigh

This WW2 thigh sizing seems similar across brands – CSF hip / thigh slim, FW 1943 has a slim thigh

imma also sitting and contemplating the charts to see what might change my speculative 38w-30l saggy-baggy small/no-cuff combo...

agreeing if you could fit a 33 then a 38 is not really sensible...

to share other thigh size of other models; the thigh on the LVC '44 at w.36 is around 32cm (with a great 34cm rise and accommodating 38" waist...) - makes them a little annoying to wear ... annoyingly ...

no chart for the 50s, but there is a list of relevant measurements here...

and the chart is amongst the pix here...

edit: all one-wash, mind... but as I said before, both my 20s and 50s have stabilised to one wash size at waist, not raw size... would be interested if that was everyone else experience...

I penned down Broark and Maharu twice and had to fix that.
Anyway Ed don't worry I can give you another number for a very modest fee.
