now, Bielby, that you got so many 66 repros flying around, would you be so kind (or someone else) to post a picture of the coinpocket (from the inside maybe)?
as these should be square and I havn't seen something like that yet...

you have to look into the 1800-2 the old ones based on the 1108 cut

The trainers are gazelle indoor, so it's possible you've worn either these or handball spezials.

Coming to the end of my segment now so until I get some boncoura, or sugar cane

The choices are

Fullcount

LVC

OOE

I wouldn't knock the LVC just wish they were in the £140.00 range like they were 4/5 years ago

My 66's from a couple of years ago

I had the 660's but found them too narrow in the thighs

+1 nice denim, just an awful cut

yes, the denim on these looks surprisingly good

A lot probably wouldn't like them because they're just lightweight, flat and have 'no texture' but I loved them, my fave pair ever and they fit right too which counts in the end, a lot of jp jeans I've bought have always been fucked up cut wise.

here you go Nemo!

square-ish coinpocket as seen on TCB my 60's

rectangular shape coinpocket as seen on TCB 50's

the coinpocket sits lower on the 60's. a much more convenient placement for easy access to your Zippo, drugs, coins, Viagra pills or whatever you want keep in the coinpocket!

Fullcount 1800, these must have been the first type so 1108 cut. I did taper them.

Actually I think that these fit me better than I remember so I must have lost some weight. Waist is big though. Denim straight away is the bluest I've had raw.

I love that shade of blue! my TCB had a pretty similar colour when new.

thanks a lot volvo!

but besides what you described, the '60s coinpockets also seem a bit smaller/shorter. at least on the TCBs, right?

i really thought they would be more square-ish

they're definitely shorter but much more accesible. I actually use the coinpocket for coins in the TCB 60's avoiding that annoying wallet-full-of-euro-coins bulkiness, but don't do it on any of my other pairs because the pocket placement is so high and the pocket itself so deep that I find it rather cumbersome.

I've been looking around the FC1800-2 and pending a further security double check on thigh measurements I think I'll get those. looks like I can easily manage a 34 waist, the denim weight is 13oz so perfect for an all year round pair for me, the hem width is 21 cm so I'll be able to rock them proper with my Tricker's and Sander's boots, brogues, loafers and monks. all shoes that have been neglected from my rotation because of too wide pants in the last couple years. the fabric itself looks exactly what I like, with the plus of trying out an obscure limited number model. oh yes!

guys keep those 66 jeans coming! love the discussion so far!

As we're discussing the Full Count options, here's the 1108.

These were designed as a 66 tribute, rather than a repro. Perhaps a somewhat lower rise than a true 66. As you'll see, altho they have slim thighs (something we associate with a '47, thanks to LVC's slim reinterpretation of that era), they taper from the knees in true '66 style, and feature the correct coin pocket shape. I especially like the beautiful pocket design - i'm not keen on the over-large pockets of some of the other repros.

For VOlvo: 1108 plus Alfred Sergeant (only seeing this photo do I realise how knackered those poor shoes are now).

This is an original pair of Levi's 502 from around 66 which passed through my hands a couple years back. Note the slight taper to the waist (the 'carrot shape'), the square coin pocket, the square-ish pockets which aren't as deep as some repros, the shallow arcuate, and how they taper from the knee.

the rise on that 1108 fit pic looks quite high though for a 60's inspired cut. interesting that you mention that still the rise it's lower of a 60's repro.

the 1800-2 66 repro model f.i. has a lower rise compared to the 1108, if measurements are correct (I found them on two different sources) a 34 1800 has a 11.8 rise while the 1108 same size has a 12.5 rise.

my TCB are around 11 iirc.

I named them wrong I think. They should be D60-199 and they are a 34 Mr Greaser.

I think that the Porky's will work out lovely when their time comes

Here are a couple of snaps of Maynard junior's deadstock 60s 501s with Scovill zip fly, still raw. It'll be a few more years before they fit him, so they'll continue to lurk with my unworn pile until then. I'll take some more photos when the light's better.
