The FW15 collection from 3sixteen continued to arrive this week. 

 

The popular work shirt appears in a mid-weight Japanese plaid fabric. The Aqua Diamond Plaid features a diamond weave with subtle aqua tones. The shirt has the signature cross-cut back design, a double-needle chain-stitch runoff and enamel coated  metal fish-eye buttons which will age with wear.

 

The Salt and Pepper Chambray Work Shirt is made from 100% cotton selvedge chambray woven in Okayama, Japan.

Details include  double needle chainstitch run-offs and Corozo nut fish-eye buttons.

 

We have also re-stocked the Double Black Selvedge Trucker Jackets.

We are pleased to announce the arrival in store and online of the much anticipated 3sixteen waxed cotton stadium jackets. Brand new to the collection will be the charcoal and field tan colourways. We have also been fortunate enough to secure a small re-stock of the olive.
 
These jackets make an ideal layering piece. They are slim cut with a modern fit. Made of a heavy 8 oz. 100% cotton canvas they have been waxed and lined with a black, quilted jersey and finished with heavyweight varsity jacket ribbing. Also included is a hidden inside pocket, lined hand warmer pockets, knit collar cuffs and waistband, whilst the hardware consists of a gunmetal YKK zipper.

New 3Sixteen clothes look amazing! I especially love the Aqua Diamond Plaid but wish the one pocket was normal. That's the only thing preventing me from spending the cash right now. Small thing to complain about, I know, but I got to love every bit of it if I'm spending Â£170 on a shirt.

The latest ultra heavy flannel from the FW15 Iron Heart collection has arrived and it is a personal favourite for its colourway: maroon/ cream. It uses the organic Aspero cotton grown in the wild in Northern Peru giving the shirts a unique softness, volume and of course deep-rooted in the DNA of all Iron Heart garments: strength.

The fabric single brushed on face, and double brushed on reverse. It has been one washed.

We have a limited run of the Viberg Boondocker Boot on 2030 last with Dainite sole. The Boondocker is Viberg's interpretation of the standard issue WW2 US Marine Boot in roughout Chromexcel leather. The 2030 last is a Canadian military silhouette, slimmer than the US Marine Boot and ideal to wear with tapered jeans. The Viberg family from British Columbia have been making boots to the absolute highest specifications since 1931.

For those interested in the history of a garment the N1 Deck Jacket was made for US Navy workers during World War 2. The alpaca hair lining protected the wearer from the biting cold winds on deck as they in turn protected merchant shipping across the North Atlantic in war time. The historical context of this jacket tells us a lot about its purpose. This is a winter jacket like no other.

Haraki-san, owner and designer of Iron Heart, sources the highest quality and longest alpaca hair available to line the 100% cotton whipcord shell. The sleeves come quilted and satin lined. There is additional interlining for increased wind resistance. The side pockets are alpaca lined and the jacket features knitted storm cuffs, a throat latch, a double action YKK zipper and placket buttons.

This year we offer the jacket in khaki and navy.

Junior wears a small jacket. He is 173 cm tall and weighs 67 kg.

We have restocked the Pure Blue Japan x012 slim tapered jeans with indigo warp and weft. This is 14 oz. denim is slubby even by PBJ standards. With tonal stitching they start out pretty smart until you really beat them up and get the most incredible fades.

Based on a cross between a WW2 pilot's bag and an old carpenters tool bag, the Born + Bred Travel Bag is made from British pull-up cowhide and veg tanned a reddish brown which will age amazingly with use. It has been entirely hand-stitched and the leather serves  as a shell for the internal duffel bag. This makes it a great leather bag without the weight of internal layering. All the hardware is solid brass, the shoulder straps can be held in the hand or over each shoulder like a rucksack, using the adjustable Sam Brown button studs. The re-enforcement straps can be attached across the bag or laterally when used as a rucksack. Each bag comes with a leather bound notebook.

In 2014 we offered our first collaboration jean with Iron Heart. With the IHxRH-666s we combined the signature 21 oz denim with the 666 Devil's fit with our own ultra thick leather patch and toned down indigo arcuates on the back pockets. The slim straight fit and denim combination proved to be a real success so we have just completed a new batch which landed today from Japan. We currently have sizes 28-40.

As well as re-stocks of some firm favourites, there are also some great new pieces from the hardworking craftspeople of UES available online and in store from today.

First off, a selvedge flannel that has been rope-dyed in indigo and custom woven on old shuttle looms in Okayama. This ticks so many boxes on so many levels. Eco ivory nut palm buttons, chain stitched construction, acorn pockets, brushed lining and will age like a pair of jeans. If you appreciate flannel shirts, indigo fading, saving the rainforests or just like looking and feeling good then this flannel is the real deal.

We have also received the Selvedge Hickory Work Shirt. A tailored slim fit for a work shirt, this 7 oz. fabric comes with rope-dyed indigo hickory stripes, corozo buttons and triple stitched construction. Smart and no-nonsense but full of unexpected little details that make all the difference (look under the collar….).

A new belt â€“ thick, oiled, cowhide leather featuring teardrop holes. Continuing the ecological focus, fully veg-tanned and natural in colour. Hardware consists of a matte brass buckle.

All the work caps have been replenished. Due to requests and feedback we have also added the ‘small’ size to the range – denim, brown, hickory & chambray. New in is the one size (adjustable) denim cap with a 5mm American cowhide brim.

All of the popular 3 Ply socks are back in a myriad of colourways – some standards and some new. Pictures do not do these socks justice – suffice to say that pretty much everyone who has ever purchased a pair from us has returned for more. A super soft fabric in a low gauge knit, these are woven on an old and rare machine using a 3-ply uneven thread. Pure Blue Japan xx-18oz-13. The favoured PBJ slim tapered cut of the xx013 has been upscaled to a hefty 18 oz.

Complete with all the good things that we’ve come to expect from the masters at PBJ – Deer skin patch with the depiction of a craftsman dyeing jeans in a traditional indigo bath, iron buttons, hidden rivets, chainstitched hem & waistband and embroidered indigo leaf on back pocket.

Keeping all the character, slub and texture of their classic 14oz denim, using the same specially adapted looms and painstaking, time consuming process, but dialling up the weight an extra 4oz’s, they have created a truly unique denim. You can immediately recognise that these are going to wear and fade quite unlike anything else.

A new jacket, shirt and jeans from Stevenson Overall arrived this week just in time for Christmas.

The  Deputy is a slim fitting ranch jacket made form 100% cotton moleskin, a fabric used on many vintage work wear garments and as durable as denim or canvas. It has been brushed for extra warmth and comfort and comes in a dark olive.

The front pleats have been bar tacked in an unique Stevenson triangular design and suede piping used on the front and back yokes. The collar and  cuffs are lined in brown corduroy.

The Cody shirt is set to become a stand out denim shirt at the store for its wholly original features. The front yoke is shaped in the form of a buffalo horn. The back yoke in that of the wings of a bird. The 6.5 oz. indigo denim is shuttle loomed using Zimbabwe cotton. The diagonally cut cuffs and sleeve placket show an attention to detail we come to expect from Stevenson. The shirt is slim fitting and slightly shorter than previous styles.

We have also introduced the 717 Upland jean. The slim straight silhouette is best likened to the Flat Head 3001/1001 styles in terms of fit and not dissimilar to the Iron Heart 666. It uses the custom woven 14 oz selvedge denim with Zimbabwe cotton. The 717 has all the features of other Stevenson jeans; hand-sewn belt loops, leather backed buttons on the fly, poly cotton constructional stitching which will fae with the denim, single-needle stitching and green selvedge line.

Happy New Year everyone. I hope it's a great one for all of you who follow this thread.

We kick off 2016 with the arrival of the latest denim jackets from Pure Blue Japan.

 

The Natural Indigo Denim Jacket is in the Type 2 style and  shuttle loomed and hand-dyed with natural indigo. The hand-dyeing process is labour intensive  creating contrast with the inherent inconsistencies of the process. Coupled with the slubby textured weave of the denim Pure Blue Japan once again produces a wholly unique and beautiful garment destined to fade with distinction.

 

The denim is of 13.5 oz weight and the jacket features a sheepskin leather patch, riveted pockets and iron buttons.

 

The Indigo Houndstooth Denim Jacket is 100% cotton and of 12 oz in weight. The jacket has been rope dyed with two shades of indigo to create a subtle houndstooth pattern. The jacket features a deerskin leather patch, riveted pockets and iron buttons.
