I wore them for maybe a month. Just everyday wear. Nothing extreme. No real fades coming in. A little in the back pocket by my wallet. Very faint in the crotch. They fit great and they feel great they're just too heavy for the climate here. PICS: http://imgur.com/a/4EgTc THEY GO FOR: $440 USD on Rivet and Hide in the UK. 2. RIVET & HIDE, London. Info etc...

Hey all, Welcome to Rivet & Hide. We are a London based premium raw denim store starting life online with plans afoot for a bricks and mortar home in the future. We offer free shipping worldwide and our UPS account will ensure a fast and reliable delivery around the world. I have been a SuFu member for years sharing thoughts, ideas and countless questions about denim and clothes that are made with heart and soul. This inspired me to set up and finally bring Rivet & Hide to life. Some of the brands will be familiar to you but part of the concept is to bring new and less well known denim producers into the sphere and we have worked hard to get that balance right. It has been a lot of fun meeting many of the people behind the brands and seeing their skills at work. We have clocked up many miles visiting them around the world making new friends along the way. A shorter trip through the Welsh valleys to beautiful Cardigan Bay to meet the Hiut Denim guys was just as rewarding. A special thanks for all the help and support from Giles & Paula at Ironheart UK and Anders Helseth of Steel Feather. We struck gold with a Union Special 43200g which was sourced from California. It’s in mint condition and dates back to 1950. Any hemming requirements can be consummately fulfilled. We have measured all our stock individually. We have not relied on suppliers or anyone else’s measurements. Our HOW WE MEASURE guide is based on BiG (thank you) with the addition of a hip measurement. We offer a 28 day returns policy with full refunds. Shipping included. The launch brands are: Railcar Fine Goods Steel Feather Flat Head Real Japan Blues Hiut denim co Nudie jeans Obbi Good Label. As we go into the Autumn we will be adding to our launch stock including some more great shirts from The Flat Head’s Winter collection, and introducing you to a new Japanese brand. We are planning a launch party hosted by our friends at Kaffeine, Great Titchfield Street, in Central London in the Autumn and will give you the heads up closer to the time. You will be more than welcome to join us. Feel free to ask any questions here or contact us at [email protected] or [email protected] http://rivetandhide.com/
  3. Steel Feather MiJ - Heavy Oz denim

My fellow Superfuturians, it's about time I let you in on a project of mine that's been in the works for about a year. However, it's been on my mind to do something like this since I first really got into Japanese denim. Naturally, this project is strongly influenced by the knowledge amassed on this very forum; as well as having drawn inspiration from it by the bucket loads. This essence I've used to create my Steel Feather jeans: highly vintage inspired and detailed, raw and unsanforized; made by hand by veteran Japanese craftsmen in small Kojima in Okayama. I also would like to give my fellow SUFU-members a peek of what goes on "behind the scene", such as showing you the Kojima denim veterans who made Steel Feather happen; for without their know-how and skills I'd still just be dreaming about doing this project. If you've got any questions, please post them in the thread or to me directly. Steel Feather SF0121 The cut is a slim and slightly tapered fit. For you guys with muscular legs, the jeans leg is somewhat narrow; PM me for advice on sizing. These are some of the featured details: 21oz Japanese selvage denim. Toyoda loom woven by a small family-owned mill in Okayama; 3/- x 3/- tight woven denim, using a blend of the finest American cotton; this denim will weigh up to 23oz after full shrinkage, but is very breathable even in hot weather Unsanforized; will shrink to tagged size Chameleon hickory pocket bags and lined back yoke; the hickory stripes in this fabric will fade to reveal various shades of coloring (see separate post in this thread) 1940s Conmar-style zipper, with grey mélange cotton tape WWII replica 1-star Laurel Wreath top button “Train track†split back pockets Hidden back pocket rivets 100 % cotton stitching alternating lemon yellow and golden orange Embossed Natural cowhide leather patch; design featuring a template from an old 1800’s advertisement Hem chainstitched by a Union Special 43200 G Crafted by hand in Okayama, Japan Design by Anders Helseth (me) Steel Feather SF0121 - the first edition pictures
