Just got my Sunset Stripe shirt from Dejan. Best $99 I have ever spent, ok maybe that is an overstatement, but for the price a way better pick up than my MFSC chambray utility shirt at $240.

I sent him an e-mail a couple days ago and haven't heard anything back yet so I would imagine noth'n yet.

Thanks for the rep and the denim on these is a lot like the denim on my 1886s. Its wears to a kinda aqua much different than Cone denim.

looking at the inner tag, does 0897 indicates the time and year they're made (aug 1997)? if that was the case, then this pair would most probably be made in valencia st?

there's also a batch of 555 made in US LVC with japanese text tags, what's the difference between them and the earlier 555 made in us valencia st, other than the tags of course.

How did you come up with the idea for the Levi’s Vintage collaboration, and what are your favorite pieces?

During a meeting with Levi’s, we were shown the Levi’s Vintage Clothing, a collection of vintage-inspired pieces that, after this season (fall 2009), will no longer be produced. Everything from the quality to the heritage of pieces made it a perfect addition to our men’s shops, so we decided to purchase the remainder of the collection.

Not a bummer at all just means the head has moved. Paul said in a previous post all production of US and Europe LVC will be in the US only and Cone denim will still be supplying. Maybe even a higher attention to detail? One can hope.

The ny times peice certainly is confusing. And it could mean something has changed since Paul posted that info but it makes me think that what Paul just e-mailed me is probably correct.

When Lynn Downey was in NYC a couple years ago her peeps told us LVC was going to be discontinued in the US so not sure why this is news?

It is a bummer there'll be no place you can go in the US to check stuff out first hand.

Wasn't a few posts back that someone posted that LVC would be widely available in the US in 2010? To lazy to go look. I always buy from Dejan anyway.

Fair play, those pre-washed 54 z's are skank. LVC should stick to making raw only, with the occasional ltd ed such as the 1915 201 or the oldest/oldest/nevada type jean. The pre-distessing looks like half an hours work max + a couple of washes.

They look nothing like an orignal pair, which is a shame.

Yes, please stick to making raw jeans. That would perhaps help to cut the costs down. As LVC doesn't have to produce great numbers of pieces, its not very "economical" to send 'em around the world.
