Long shot, but figured if possible, this was the place to ask...!

Any chance anyone can identify which model of 501s Brad Pitt has been wearing? I’m thinking 67 or 77 given the taper but unsure.

Any insight would be appreciated!

thanks

I’ve been wearing my 76s lately and really enjoying them but one minor irritant (on both my pairs) is the width of the chainstitched hem, it’s far too wide in my opinion. I owned a few pairs of selvedge 501s back in the 80s (some of which may have been from the late 70s) and they all had narrow hems. None of my other era LVC have this wide hem issue either so I’m not sure if it’s a deliberate ‘feature’ or simply inaccurate sewing from a factory used to making wider hems for other brands.

If anyone is interested in any Made in the USA 1873 First February 2000 deadstock 822 on the button these are currently available at £222 in the sale (sizes 31 and 32 only). They are sold as having been made at Washington State All Seasons Sewing Factory. Size 32 is in short supply. https://item.rakuten.co.jp/birigo/levis-125-0024/

They are very well made (see raw pics) and do not have the same problem as my other pair of 822s where the left pocket lining stuck out (see washed pics).

^ same but paired with my forgetfulness.
Found these stashed in an old shoe-box at my parents place. Have probably worn them once or twice at most and stashed them away for the future after that. Luckily they still fit :D Think I bought them spring or summer 2017 when the news of White Oak closing down came out.

Just got this shirt in the mail. Thought I bought an lvc shirt but it looks kinda sus. Made in Indonesia and a red tab with a small e. Main line or fake? What do you guys think? Fabric is nice enough and construction is solid though.

Sizing help please!

Will a pair of pre-washed/distressed LVC’s fit the same as a raw pair that’s been fully shrunk in the same tag size?

Been reading through posts and sizing guide, but haven’t seen it spoken to.

I wear 33 in Warehouse 800xx & Unbranded 301, size 2 in Orslow 105, and 32 in Iron Heart 634 - was hoping for a slightly more relaxed fit and got a 33 in a pre-washed/distressed pair of LVC 55s and am completely swimming in them. Now considering a size 32 in the raw 55s, but unsure if that’s a wise choice

@Hoohoodunit historically (last decade or so) LVC non shrink to fit models measure what they are tagged at ie, 31” waist measures 31”

Raw LVC measure the size it starts out at so a tagged 31” waist would shrink down to a 29ish and stretch out an inch (give it take).

as always it’s best to have the particular garment you’re considering measured.

I would love to get my LVC to fade like these - is it something about the Japanese water? ヤフオク! - 米国製 リーバイス 30s復刻 37201-0003 501XXc ... (yahoo.co.jp)

looking at the flat levis's red tab, they have not been washed, or very mildly. the red tab curls up the more washes it gets

Good point. They were made in November 1998 and my experience is that the red tab on the older models doesn't curl up as much as it is does on the newer models. I will look to add pics to demonstrate this.

Interesting that this pair of made in February 2000 822 Washington State All Seasons Sewing Factory 1873 First 125 0024s should have the price tag of 25,000 yen printed on the label. Over 21 years later they are selling for 44,000 yen.

  • 2 weeks later...

Picked up two interesting pairs 2nd hand for fair prices. One S501XX probably rough rinse that was lightly worn and had one small hole that I repaired. Digging the anti-fit.

Also some 505s and I'm not sure what to make of them. Thinking they could be fakes... Would be grateful for any opinions :)
What makes me suspicous is the washing tag that states 1967 501 Jean. Strangely enough someone posted the LVC catalog from 2007 on denimbro which also has some 505-0217 as 67 501 Jean on the product overview site... so there's some hope it could be an early LVC...

Was wondering if any lvc expert could help me identify these, I know they’re 1800 something, but not sure what denim, where they’re from and I think they are natural indigo , any help would be appreciated.
