Levi's Vintage Clothing

As @beautiful_FrEaK mentioned, the factory code on LVC jeans buttons represents the specific Levi’s or third party factory responsible for assembling all the materials (denim, thread, hardware, patch, pocket bags) into a pair of jeans.

So is there a way to find out if the denim is made fully in Togs? Also I take it these aren't cone or was the white oak label added later to jeans?

I thought we’d made it clear that the Levi’s and/or third party factories don’t make the denim or any of the other  materials, they simply use them to make the jeans. In most cases US-made LVC jeans use Cone denim, although some of the earlier models have used Japanese denim. I think the White Oak label was only added to the later pairs from something like 2015 or 2016, I’m not sure of the date. I hope that all makes sense now.

Ah I see that's great thanks for the info!

Really love the denim on these 47s. Very soft and stretchy. Kind of the opposite to what I was expecting from cones 40s type fabric but maybe that's my misconception. Could also be because they are well worn. Reminds me of the resolute 714s I had.

I have some LVC 66 japan made arriving soon so will be nice to compare.

As they have hidden rivets but no cinch, and they’re not 44s, they’re either 47, 54Z, 55 or 551ZXX. I’ll go for 47s as the pockets don’t look pointy enough for 55s and the zip models are less common.

Incredible hairy denim, superbly finished. The jean fits perfect after the initial soak, honestly one of the best I‘ve ever owned.

66s have arrived from Bears today. Will shrink them in the wash this weekend. I was worried the rise might be a tad to short but they are measuring 12 inch FR and 16 inch BR for 36 size so think will be fine. Waist is big and hopefully will shrink 2 inches but prefer to have them a bit loose and wear a belt anyway. Liking the wee extras with these. Probably will use that tote bag a lot. Impressed so far

Happy with how these have shrunk. Washed at 40, low spin. Great weather for drying jeans too.

Waist has shrunk 2 inches. Inseam 3 inches.

The denim is a vibrant blue which I was expecting with the 60s. But it's also quite neppy which I wasn't expecting so chuffed about that. Might put a reddit post up with all the measurement photos at some point.

Nice pair. I have a pair of Cone White Oak 1955s and almost a year ago I picked up new the type II 507 jacket and I was surprised how well the Japanese denim matched the 55 cone. Both fuzzy and wonderful.

Ah ok, stitched arcuates. And the leather patch looks somehow strange.

the arcuate and the patch look pretty decent, its the red tab, that within a 40s repro shouldn't feature a trademark "R", it is the short rise and the attachment of the flashers with plastic straps rather than cotton/poly thread which proofs the are being a fake pair

…that‘s a 44 right? From the pictures the arcuates look stitched, not painted on or am I wrong?

They look painted / printed to me.. just compare the uniform spacing of the arc stitch to the uneven spacing of the pocket stitch.

This is reminiscent of those Sugar Cane ‘37 fakes you posted recently. Did you buy both of these pairs?

@Maynard Friedman yes indeed, it looks like they have used the same denim here and also the fit is quite close, but since my knowledge regarding LVC is much bigger than of Sugar Cane, I easily could spot is a fake, but as for the Canes, it is very well done... funny thing is, I spotted 2 pairs of them and both run around 170,-€ as my Sugar Cane pair and had been sold by three "different" vintage sellers on Vinted, all based in the same country... Vinted now offers to check if stuff you buy is legit and I wonder if this pair would have passed the service!?😄
