Forgot about this one, languishing in the back of the coat cupboard. (Vintage) Levis Vintage Clothing 1873 Duck vest, which together with the duck hunters jacket and pants, we're some of the best pieces made by Lvc around 1999-2001. This one has had a soak and been taken in a little at the back either side of the centre seam as it was a bit baggy for my tastes and it was first worn back in the summer of 2018, when l built my own shed. Those bottom pockets were ideal for holding screws etc as l've never been a big fan of tool belts, but this was great over a vest-top worn with shorts. Think there's a pic buried deep in the Waywt thread somewhere. Not worn it since but you never know it may come in handy once more in the future. Have no idea how that lightened area came about, but it happened in storage back in the early 2000's. Pics have been randomly Sufu'd for no apparent reason again so apologies for that10 points

To all. Jealous of you who can wear denim during these temps, especially here in the UK. I have hardly worn any denim since May and will probably hardly wear any until September/October time when the daytime temps become more bearable. This has become a growing trend with me, just living in vest tops or t-shirts and shorts (none of it denim 😁) when the warmer months come and donning jeans more October until April time. I don't think it's climate change, rather something that's just occurred since entering my 50's(?). So with this new parameter coupled with my worsening feet problems means my denim takes a lot longer to fade 😢 Luckily l probably have enough worn-in jeans to last a very long time. So more so living vicariously through you lot these days. Keep up the good work everyone!8 points

He wouldn’t let me take a photo without him…. Those are size 28 and they run very small. I can’t fit into their size 38 and I usually wear 36 freewheelers which are slightly loose. she kept the original hem too, which turned out really nice. we’re getting a few things fixed now over the summer. Will take more pics in two years.2 points

0105 after 18 months of regular wear. Pretty satisfied with these but unlikely to consider another pair due to the excessive back rise (you can see some fade lines on the yoke due to the sag). Something I pay more attention to now... still, they are the most comfortable jeans I've owned and a super versatile cut overall. Plenty of missing threads and some heavy wear on the cuffs. Not sure what size these are as the patch had a 33 but the inner tag has a 32 – anyone else have this on their pair? Peek-a-boo:2 points

Never underestimate the power of sufu.. I’m down at Morrisons now, buying pizzas for the weekend.. They have a new touchscreen so I don’t have to engage with the staff.. I just type in my pizza order, go pick up some bits ‘b bobs, call back and collect with no uncomfortable interactions and no anxiety freak outs..2 points

I’m shifting. I’ve always been shifting. But I shifted deeper in . There must be a more obscure brand, harder to get a few snobs know about. But not to snobbish. It was /is a fine line I balanced on( at least in my perspective) I guess it started at no buy 2019 I believe it was. That was easy when financial situation changed, I sold my engineers, and Mr freedom stuff. all I need is a white t shirt a good pair of jeans. now it’s time to buy a new pair of shorts, (rabbit hole) I stumbled upon service works. And blacksmith’s webshop Seems nice stuff and more in my nowadays financial reach. Looks like all the basics I like, but not so obscure . life is always shifting2 points

Vintage Lvc ephemera, all from the earlier Levis Vintage Clothing era, 1996-2005. Apart from the flashers, waist labels and booklets, there are some early promo/info cards which were apparently available to retailers in the first wave of repros from Levi's back in 1996. There's also a remembrance day promo offer from Cinch in London for this WW2 jeans, tee and duffle bag.2 points

It’s been hot as hell where I’m at too and in years past I would have soldiered on in denim but this year, no. I just…don’t need to be intentionally uncomfortable. My cares are gone ha. Mostly wearing cheap old shorts that have stuck in my closet for 10 years or more, but my Ues linen WW2 pair has gotten some time too.1 point

Sorry to be posting more of the same, but here's some more shots taken indoors which show the denim colour and texture a bit better. Will have to get some nice shots using a proper camera one day. Like l said before, Love these. The 506XX jacket has got hardly any wear when compared to the jeans but does share some of the nice puckering... First post with pics that haven't been Sufu'd. I'm having a beer!1 point

Depending on the brand but I usually go for 42-43 cm across for the waist. I tried a 34 and 36 for the tcb 50. 34 was snug but would have stretched. The 36 fit more like fullcount0105 so went with that. Need a belt after a few days as they stretch but I'm fine with that and have grown (literally) to prefer using a belt than feeling too tight in the waist1 point

Thanks, yeah measurements definitely look bigger than some brands. I have some Freewheelers shirts I really like but find their collar proportions are sometimes a bit small so the longer point collar on the Big Yank stuff appealed for a change of pace. I've tried the Rite Stuff before but mis-sized and it was nice but maybe I'd been spoiled by FW shirting as it didn't seem as special by comparison, maybe Big Yank won't either, will see I guess. Anatomica / Big Yank etc. seem to have a few different online stores... but maybe they all ship from the same place. I was looking at the 1920s yoke model1 point

Envious of you lot that can wear denim jackets in June! These spent about 8 hours in the Texas sun (chilly day here, only 91 F / ~32 C) and they're bone dry now. Starting to see a little marbling pop up. They'll go back on the legs tomorrow.1 point

Drying in the Texas heat. Still not seeing much marbling on my pair like some others have noticed.1 point

Anybody want some catalogs for free? Found a few while I was cleaning today. 3 Warehouse from the last 5 years and a 2020 sugarcane and 2020 buzz Rickson’s. If you take them all I’ll ship them to you for free. (In the US). Otherwise I’ll recycle them next week. Edit: all gone thanks!1 point

since for me everything started with LVC, no wonder they are among my oldest repros: 1950s Sawtooth Shirt, notice the long, what I would call front skirts / tails. I couldn't find out the purpose (maybe for bending backwards while on a Rodeo-Horse back) of it, since one would instinctively think that the back part should be longer, which is not uncommon for other vintage / antique shirt's... however this detail makes them a little less wearable untucked. This shirt was one of 4 deadstock shirts which a had the fortune of to acquire along with a rather large stash of deadstock Valencia Street Era 1955s 501xx repros a few years back... in time I have to post those too.1 point
