Drying in the Texas heat. Still not seeing much marbling on my pair like some others have noticed.10 points

Just reorganizing all my FW ephemera, they had largely been left disorganized but loosely grouped by sub label. Largest count of the lot are the Power Wear items (tees, sweats, etc.) followed by Union Special and Great Lakes. Didn't have the wherewithal to get a total count, but maybe one day. I did take note that my oldest item is from 2013.8 points

So not only are Japanese jean manufacturers repro’ing old Levi’s, now Japanese denim mills are repro’ing Cone’s business decisions!6 points

Envious of you lot that can wear denim jackets in June! These spent about 8 hours in the Texas sun (chilly day here, only 91 F / ~32 C) and they're bone dry now. Starting to see a little marbling pop up. They'll go back on the legs tomorrow.4 points

^ Although if he wore one of his usual pairs whilst being water boarded, the process may create some interesting artificial distressing to his jeans. As well as quite a bit of distress to his person…4 points

Photos always seem lighter than reality with my phone but here are my pair of WH 1915 Belt loop model (1922 501XX) after their 3rd wash. Denim has faded super fast compared to what l'm usually used to but l have had them as part of rotation for nearly 3 years so l guess that's fair. Only a little cotton becoming worn/unravelled at the front pocket openings otherwise they are outstanding imo. Patch is a doppelganger for a vintage one. Love these. Anyway, so the first photo has been Sufu'd cos l had to chop my toes out of the pic, sorry4 points

Isn't waterboarding making huge profits by supplying a natural resource for years then blarting for a government handout when the infrastructure you failed to maintain starts to breakdown despite said profits? Or is that just seven trent waterboarding?3 points

Rumor has it that Kurabo is closing mills and therefore the Warehouse x Kurabo work for Denime will stop. They are releasing a "special edition" Denime 220A. Just the 220A but sealed in a plastic bag. Seen here https://www.instagram.com/p/DKonKoNJMGh/?igsh=ZDV3OTBuazFidHZl The other pair looks like a 20th Anniversary model, no idea why it is posted here as well.3 points

Follow up from the small questions thread (and vintage denim thread) - my partner and I both got some new pants today! I got some buzz chinos that I really like, wider than I imagined but still like the fit, and my partner got some nice dark 80s Levi’s. Don’t focus too much on my terrible haircut lol 😛2 points

Yeah I have zero interested in pre-distressed denim regardless of brand.1 point

Thanks guys, it is indeed handsome. @ATWM I owe you special thanks, your comparison to the cut of the sugar cane 1953 gave me confidence in buying despite the lack of measurements. You were spot on, the shoulders are sloped and the armholes are a bit small, it feels like its one size bigger than my SC, which is a 38. @Maynard Friedman As an american who has no interest in soccer, you're lucky that didn't go right over my head 🤣 If you mentioned the price to a, uh, "layman" they might believe you!1 point

My partner traded for some 80s Levi’s at a vintage sale today! They’re a model 26501-0118 with a paper patch, non-selvedge but still beautiful denim, and a 2 2 stamped on the top fly button. Anyone have more info on them at all? Some photos & closeups of the patch, fabric and some nicely sloppy back pocket stitching:1 point

Also feeling behind as I only wear them about 2-3 hours a day, but I there's enough time to catch up! Like our friend volvo, I'm happy with how things have set and will be washing more frequently now as honestly I'm looking for more even fades, similar to vintage pairs here and here. Some updates though, post wash last night:1 point

Thank you for this @merzbot! I want to do a superfuture-level rundown on the Working SKEWed jeans in the next week or so, but actually I just came on to show some details of the 900 Bull Denim, so good timing. This fabric is woven with a 100% cotton warp and a 50/50 wool/hemp weft. Generally speaking, dyes react differently with cellulose fibres (eg cotton, linen) and protein fibres (eg wool, silk), and even more generally speaking dyes stick better to protein than to cellulose. This can be quite subtle, for example with woad, where the blue is relatively deep across all the fibres in the fabric (with the original undyed fabric below): the khaki, particularly, took to the wool much more readily than to the cotton or hemp, creating a sort of turquoise wool fuzz over the top of a paler green cotton/hemp ground: lastly, though, here's a version which is a little more subtle, but which I'm really excited by. This is dyed hadal blue with a formula that reacts only with wool, so that the cotton and hemp remain completely undyed. It gives the effect of a fabric woven with an undyed warp and a melange fibre dyed warp, where dyed wool is spun with undyed hemp, but all with a single garment dye. The jacket reads as denim, but with the softness and lightness of the bull denim cloth.1 point

I’ve been lurking since about 18 months. Though I also think I must have come across this site 15 years ago when I was in high school and somehow stumbled across Evisu. I never ended up getting any, likely due to price and confusion about raw denim. Or maybe I just realized they would be very out of place in my rural farm town and I most probably wouldn’t have been able to pull them off. Sometimes I wish I had gone for it. For some years I have been drawn toward more conscious consumption, mostly interested in pursuing products made in the US. However, I never felt I could afford to. I ended up just not really buying clothes for most of Covid (I’ve been the same size since high school). In researching for my Christmas list for my mother in 2023, I came across madeindex.com, which led me to some American denim brands, which led me to Heddels, r/rawdenim, and ultimately here. I bought for myself a pair of Tellason Stock (non-selvedge) during the Black Friday sale. I wish I had spent more time with that pair and kept lurking and learning before buying more, but over the next few months I backed a Gustin campaign, bought a like new pair of Left Field NYC, bought and sold a pair from 3sixteen, and fell victim to Oni Crushed Concrete hype. I don’t fully regret those purchases, but I’ve taken the last year to wear what I have and keep learning from you all! Still haven’t figured out what I might want next, and not sure I have a lot to contribute, but I appreciate the community. Thanks to all of you for the thoughtful denim and non-denim conversation!1 point
