  1. This page is out of control. Excellent stuff everyone. My dad and I got the chance to embarrass each other last week at my local hole in the wall where my friends/castmates run a weekly jam. Black and white spy shots by my platonic gal pal Melissa. Embroidered Denim vest 90s Cash Rob Kap belt buckle Mister Freedom Outlaw Dad-ception. He sang 50 year old originals. I sang him Paul Simon's Kodachrome.

  2. So the SCSC '42 jeans landed... and post-wash the w34 were snugger than I'd hoped. Looking at other pairs, mine came up on the smaller end of the spectrum. The target was a reasonably voluminous pair, with a big enough waist to allow some decent cinching. In fact, I liked the pre-wash fit better than post wash... ...so, stuck in the worm hole, I then got a w36... and they meet the original brief... I like 'em (many won't) cinched up with no belt. The w34 has the bells and whistles... both w34 and w36 have been hemmed with original cotton from Toyo... w34 before and after washing w36 before and after washing

  4. 1109xx Probably had these about 10yrs. Only ever worn in sporadic bursts, then shelved for a bit, then dusted off & brought back out... etc etc. I change the cuff size all the time too, never settled on the right length, but whatever, it just adds to the charm of them.

  6. No bother, i'm happy to help. The M40313s just add to this great resource so kudos to your friend for finding them and noticing that they are a little special. Since the death of GeoCities JP .. (which was never great) this is the only Sugarcane M-Series resource on the webz.. so for years now, you notice the info from here copy/pasted into Yahoo / Mercari / Carousell sales posts, where thrifters have found an old pair of jeans, searched the product code which sends them here.. their WTF! moment when they find a 500 post thread regarding the 30yr old jeans they've just found always makes me smile.. Now, if i can just figure out a way of monetising it.. i'll be rich!.. rich, i tell's ya!

  9. Re marbling: yes it has a tendency to marble quite easily when machine washed. But not as bad as the denim from the Denim Bridge contest. Last day at the beach. Cold and windy

  11. Hahaha well... my other SCSC 45s and 43s are w34, as are all my FW (albeit those feel more generous in some fits)... this was definitely a small pair by the measurements compared to other actual measurement I know of... hanging on in there still... just 😬 The w36 unwashed were humungous. I had them hemmed longer cos I wanted a f-off cuff and to allow me to wash hotter on 40C (the w34 was washed on 30C). The final pic is cinched to almost the max (cinch fades ftw)... not a smooth rear image in any way but I don't give a sh!t as I don't look at it Keeping both atm but if one was to go based on fit (rather than bells and whistles) it'd be the w34... we'll see

  12. I got some 1955s off Ebay made in US. Is this a Taylor Togs pair? I think 2013? Buttons are blank. I've snapped a few photos compared to my LVC 66s and TCB 50s. They are quite different measurement wise to TCBs. Longer front rise and more of a taper. These are more faded than they looked on ebay but thinking can still get my own fades on these despite the heavy wear/washes. 2nd last photo is compared to TCB

  14. Reading between the lines.. it sounds like someone needs to come to terms with the fact they’re no longer a W34 I think they both look great but I’d go for the W36 if you plan to wash lots and W34 if it’s (like me) every 6mths or just keep both and compare wash routines on the denim. The unwashed W36 looks very unflattering.. makes you look 6” shorter and 4” wider.

  15. There are stores in Italy and Belgium where I buy leather - they will not sell to me unless the purchase is at least £135 (shipping incl.) … so I’m getting hit with every tax the UK feels obliged to charge. There are stores in Croatia and Denmark where I buy leather - they couldn’t care less how little (or how much) I buy and if the order is less than £135 the stuff turns up a week later and not a penny extra paid.

  19. Idk about yall but I definitely shoot for unflattering when I am sizing raw/unwashed. It remains to be seen if I ever land on flattering after the process is over but if they’re flattering when raw I’m typically a bit concerned about comfort, at the very least.

  20. No, I don't know any more yet. I called the Junky shops. Unfortunately they don't send overseas. I'll try the others in the next days and ask them about the fit.

  22. Follow up from the small questions thread (and vintage denim thread) - my partner and I both got some new pants today! I got some buzz chinos that I really like, wider than I imagined but still like the fit, and my partner got some nice dark 80s Levi’s. Don’t focus too much on my terrible haircut lol 😛

Great jeans but no patience to stretch them plus the rise is low for my preferences!! F me Neal they are 82cm though iirc which is 32.283 inches... forget tag size lads and lasses, go on measurements 😬

  28. IMO w34 would stretch after 1 day, but w36 would allow you to use the cinch more... both after wash look good

  29. Hmm.. yes, that’s a little more ambiguous. Try it.. it must be at least a couple of days since your last purchase..

  30. The fees are reasonable and the reviews are excellent so it wouldn’t hurt to just give them a whirl, take some screenshots of the checkout process and let us know the results. What I posted above is pasted from their FAQs but all proxy services used to claim ‘we will not lower value for shipping’ in their index but they still would..

  31. @indigoeagle the sizing varies depending on the seller... I haven't seen consistency yet - have you found a trusted source? For instance, on previous page chest for a sz 46 was 66cm. Presumably all are non wash. Cheers.

  32. "46- 着丈約63cm・身幅約62.5cm・肩幅約55.5cm・袖丈約67cm" overall length, chest width, shoulder width, sleeve length. Your measurments are: back length: 61cm chest- 63.7cm shoulder- 53cm sleeve- 62.5cm So, very similar as this is N/W. Just the chest is slimmer and the sleeves a bit longer it seems.

  33. Another pair for sale here @redragon so probably not all that rare. https://zenmarket.jp/mercariproduct.aspx?itemCode=ewjEkW4R2oxriNhq8tKgJU It's just a case that nobody has noticed the M40313 product code and by doing so has put them into the "1991-2003" catagory of SC production.

  34. That CSF loop was copied from a pair in the Miura collection so it exists in at least two places.. unless that pair in the 501 book are the Miura 46s?

  41. Is there any info or does anyone know why LVC make the 66 a much brighter blue that previous 501s? I read a really interesting article (probably linked from here) about magnadraft during the 60s and 70s that creates by accident a more slubby fabric. But for the dye i can't seem to see much info. Looking at Acorn and their big e collection a lot of the jeans look identical (to my untrained eye) to the indigo of the 50s and 40s. I've screenshot a few photos. Also a photo of very blue LVC 66s. Are LVC just trying to differentiate models for selling purposes or is this actually what the jeans were like?

  48. My old, worn 1101s from 2017 and new (to me) one-wash 0106s (produced in 2018 but recently acquired). Both size 31 and 13.7oz denim. The 1101s have had 2 rounds of crotch repairs, the arcs have completely disintegrated and they’re now relegated to dog walking duties - note the short welly fades on the lower legs. They’re probably the slimmest fitting jeans I’ve worn in years. The 0106s aren’t seen that often, they’re supposed to be a wider cut than the 0105s but they seem pretty similar all round to me, other than the offset rear belt loop and perhaps wider back pockets. I have a pair of raw 0105XX too with arcs and tabs, so I’ll try to give them a proper comparison. The 0106s will need a little off the length.
