Great! We drove down to Port Aransas last weekend for a day trip, probably the furthest stretch I've taken it on so far besides going to Houston to visit my wife's family. I still get some mild range anxiety whenever I'm having to rely solely on public charging, but now that I have a NACS adapter that's a bit less of a concern. I'd love to take it on a longer road trip but that's not so easy with the little one. Could definitely see myself sticking with electric going forward. Here's a photo dump. Been pretty busy lately hence the absence from posting, but outside of dad duties I landed a new (fully remote!) job. This was a huge boost for my mental health, I really started hating my old role. Only was there for a year but I can safely say it was the worst job I've ever had. New company flew me up to Philly last week, wasn't there long but really enjoyed it. Never visited before but seems like I'll be back every quarter so I look forward to exploring more of it. Had my mom in for mother's day, been playing a bunch of golf lately. Saw a cool kei truck and some black bellied whistling ducks, and of course I've had some pizza. I'll work on getting some photos dedicated photos of the jeans soon, really enjoying them!20 points

Drying after first real machine wash. Couple washes to this point but all done by hand. Probably no more of that. First photo is probably most accurate color. No real combs but signs of a little fraying on back of the knee where the crease is, haha. Summer is coming and soon as it is hot will probably be washing these fairly often.15 points

M41057 Picked these up on a bit of a whim, I’ve been interested in the vaunted M series for a few months, browsing Mercari and yahoo sporadically at work. I saw these the other week, still nice and dark, listed much cheaper than comparable pairs, so I pulled the trigger. I’ve put just one wear into them, but I think I’m understanding the hype.13 points

Most recent delivery. Late '45 601xx, I'll be waiting awhile to wash and wear these but it's tempting to throw 'em in the wash now... Obviously I'm a sucker for any and all Great Lakes Mfg. branded gear...13 points

The other day, I saw a post no bills sign at a construction site and it brought up a memory I had long forgotten, which, now that I think about it, is kinda funny. When I was a kid, I didn't grow up with huge amounts of money but also, was just a kid so having one pair of jeans, one pair of shoes, one hat, was normal to me. You wear out your shoes, you replace them. Wear them out. Rinse and repeat. Well, PNB Nation (Post No Bills) was a hip-hop company—that did raw denim (I now realize). I picked up a pair as I needed a new pair, they were on sale and I wasn't overly fussy. Anyways, it is funny to me that after a good few years of wearing them, I now know that I was into raw denim before I realised I was into raw denim. I distinctly remember my mom telling me that it was time for a new pair but I told her they were just starting to look good, the thighs were white and had holes in the knees and wallet fade and everything. They were black denim too. I didn't know why they looked good, in the sense of raw denim but I knew they looked good. I recently looked up on eBay to see if there were any still around and low and behold...Brought back so many memories, I distinctly remember the inside waistband graphic, and the stash pocket and "hammer" loop.9 points

Also feeling behind as I only wear them about 2-3 hours a day, but I there's enough time to catch up! Like our friend volvo, I'm happy with how things have set and will be washing more frequently now as honestly I'm looking for more even fades, similar to vintage pairs here and here. Some updates though, post wash last night:6 points

hello there! Apologies for being a bit MIA @UkeNo! congrats! You will always remember these jeans as the jeans you were wearing when your kid was born! Ha! first proper update. Finally after much struggling I've managed to loose some weight and I was brave enough to give the jeans a proper 40° C right side out wash. Pretty happy with the results, I think I have enough contrast now to start washing very frequently. I absolutely adore these jeans! Probs my favourite jean cut. I forgot how hard is to properly capture color with a camera. It's been awhile! @beautiful_FrEaK fab marbling action going!6 points

not much stuff to show on the life side of things. I've been to Brittany France to pick up a new flute. The guy who made it is an absolute character. He's close to retirement, and works as little as possible (and I don't blame him for that!). Never had a website, never had to promote himself much too. Makes beautiful, quirky, instruments, with a very nice design too. Great guy too. He lives in a very beautiful and remote area of north Brittanny. here's the man, I just edited his face as I think he wouldn't be very happy to be featured on a raw denim forum! pic of the machine itself (sorry WOM not featured!) this is perhaps my favourite detail. It's a knot in the wood, so it may be seen as a defect actually, but it looks like an eye, and it's on the outer side of the instrument. Reminds me of the eye of Sauron Released a new album too, just a couple weeks ago. It's here if anyone wants to give it a spin.3 points

NACS is basically the Tesla charging standard. Tesla has a better network of chargers in most states than any other company, so it greatly expands your options in a pinch. That said, I haven’t gotten one yet… R3X feels like a pipe dream at this point…we’ll see if Rivian can survive getting the R2 into production. I like it too, but if it happens I would bet like…5 more years. So frustrating in my recent trip to the UK seeing all of the smaller EVs driven over there that we just can’t get over here. I digress… Plenty happy w the Volvo EV - it looks like @julian-wolf grabbed a cousin of ours.2 points

Since there isn’t a dedicated thread about downsizing the collection, I’ll share here. Over the past year, I sold a few items — among them my very first pair of Japanese jeans, from Samurai, as well as a pair from Iron Heart — both of which I’d long since outgrown. There have been no new denim purchases, as I’m moving toward optimizing the collection. While years ago I was interested in trying out a variety of brands, I’ve now settled on a focus around just a few — primarily Full Count, Ooe Yofukuten, and Freewheelers.2 points

I wear my FW N-1 through the colder months. It's warm which is what I need for watching football or being down the track with my lad on cold days and nights in the north, or even going for a winter walk around the park. Undoubtedly it has its limitations - it's a heavy beast of a jacket so it's never going to be ideal for walking up mountains compared to built-for-purpose mountain gear, for example... but I like it and find it useful... so in answer to your question @fabes I still wear mine1 point
