Evisu is still loved!

at the end of the day, im fine with it, it's just kind of weird and shady to send me something not advertised (unless i missed something in the google translate)

a couple of questions now:

1. bought a 33, usually a 31/32. just warmed washed these and it shrank quite a bit in the waist - will these stretch out quite a bit?

2. who are you guys using to proxy from the official evisu.jp site?

The measurements of the current 2001s in no.1 denim is off by a lot. I received a size 38 and the waist is 35.5 raw while the thigh, legs and other measurements are correct based on the website. I have a 2001 in no.1 denim also from around 2012 in size 34 and the waist started bigger than my current size 38. I don't know why evisu sizing is this inconsistent.

One could argue why they put a size on them to begin with. So the other dimensions are true to the size chart? What did you do with them and when did you receive them?

The legs and all the other measurements are correct (based on the chart) for the size 38, but the waist is for a size 34-35 so I will have to endure a muffin top when I decide to wear them. My pair is still raw.

Not planed anytime soon but I would expect 2-2.5" shrinkage in the waist (which will stretch back if needed) and at last 3" in the inseam. Based on my past experience with the No.1 denim (although my old pair wasn't Tiger Selvedge).

What are the different No.1 fabrics? I'm looking to buy a pair of 2000s and am kinda confused, are there only the tiger selvedge and red selvedge variations? Or is there also a regular No.1 that is neither of those?

Nvm, the No.1 denim changes every season?

The No.1 used to change every year (at least the selvedge ID did).

Then, some years ago they offered the Tiver Selvedge (again) as a stable product. The Red Selvedge was available for some years and you have the Gatagata and Petero as stubby denim options.

And of course you have some special releases like the Hanami Selvedge and No.0 denim (latest issue with pineapple fibers).

I'm kind of on an Evis(u) tear. Snagged a pair of 2001 No. 1s in great condition on Buyee and really struck gold. Rarely do you get a pair that looks less worn than in the photos... And this denim is way lighter than my 2501s that I cannot get over.

Question though for you Evisu-heads (cough @beautiful_FrEaK) or brummy if you are still around, how do you date these post 250x era? The arcs on this are yellowed and appear quite old. Evisu selvage lines are also all over. I've seen traditional red, alternating color, full color, this olive-gray with silver thread, and my 2501s that are black or blue.

Well I guess I should have read the posts above. Is there anywhere that documents this in detail?

Someone from this board - @CrashTestBrummie ? - sourced these early Yamane Evisu for my nipper. They were a bit big for him, so they went in the denim box and by the time I remembered them he was too big for them .

So I'd like to pass them on to someone from this board for the purchase price, let's say £15 donation to youngminds plus postage. Make me an offer if that's too much ££££. 25 waist, 30 leg. My guess is they've been soaked once and that's pretty much it. Classic early hairy evis denim. I don't check my PMs that often so feel free to email me.

Okay admittedly I have a problem.

But as part of my seemingly never ending search for some early days Evis 2501 No. 1s, I came across this pair of water Buffalo patch 2501 no. 2 in great shape and couldn't pass up. It's interesting to see how much the 2501 fit changes between the later gens and this early example. Straight as straight can be with that good ol' hip flair. The denim also has this wild brown hue to it, almost like unbleached cotton.

I love this. I know I’d never buy anything from Evisu (unless I came across an amazing pair of Evis in my size, but even then…), however I really enjoy looking at some of the older stuff and enjoy it vicariously. Bravo @Graytrain for keeping the thread alive!

It's funny because I always thought Evisu were soulless. Until I began looking at the older stuff. The details on these 2501 are wild. Sturdy with so much attention to detail. And now that I have a few pair, you can see the life in the ever changing fits between jeans as they evolved the shape.

I'm just dying to get my hands on old No. 1 denim to see how it compares. I like character, wrinkle and pucker in my denim and there isn't much in no2. Admittedly I haven't worn it out yet so could be surprising.
