I've no idea about the words so I just used google translate and there it says "empty" and talks about the fifth element which is void.

And as they announced earlier that the 5th element (viod/emptiness) will have a charcoal weft...well...that's enough to convince me to say the S5000GX-S is "void"

Although it is charcoal weft, the patch has light blue on it, and S is the first letter for sky in Japanese.. I'm just saying. ;)

But this pedantry is missing the point, which was that it has finally been announced.

Whatever colour a black-hole is (?)

I think charcoal was a bit of a let down, I was hoping for black weft. But it looks like they were saving black for the S634GX.

Please do tell about this s634GX?!

The Fifth Element model is meant to represent Void not Sky. Whether or not they they changed Void to Sky is besides the point because its really supposed to represent emptiness. With the weft being as dark as it is I still have hope that the denim itself will be Nando Nando like in color.

So Lot.13, I assume? What size did you buy in the end? And if you bought them at BiG, I believe they could help you better in sizing then we can over the internet :)

Did you take measurements before and after?

pre soak measured the same as on BiG for tagged 32

post soak

waist - 32

front rise - 10.5

back rise - 13.5

thigh - 11.5

knee - 9

leg opening - 8.5

inseam - 36

about to soak again as the waist has already stretch back plus i think there may be more shrinking

would anyone recommend sizing up 1 in 710's?

no. if you have to size up one in 710s, then you should go for a different cut.

I was thinking of buying my first pair of Samurais. I was considering the S0510XX because on the first page they are described as a "relaxed" fit. But have searched through some of the thread and have noticed people calling them a '47 type fit. I've had 1947 LVC and they certainly weren't relaxed. My perfect fit seems to be 36x34 1955 LVC. Any suggestions as to what Samurai cut I should go for?

Thanks.

So here are your options for the S510XX

from light to heavy:

http://www.e2nd.net/br-sj/sj-411-01-f/sj-s0510xx.htm

http://www.e2nd.net/br-sj/sj-411-01-f/sj-s510xx19oz.htm

http://www.e2nd.net/br-sj/sj-411-01-f/sj-s510xx21oz.htm

http://www.e2nd.net/br-sj/sj-411-01-f/sj-s510xx24oz-l.htm

on the bottom is always a measurement chart. But don't trust them too much.

With Samurai, sizing is always a question of your choice of denim.

They are all slightly different in regard of shrinking, stretching and what the waist measures raw. Even sometimes different between the Lots (year of production).

So first choose your denim and than it's easier to help.

Thank you so much for posting that.

I think the s510xx 19oz are the ones for me.

What do you think?

im looking to get some s5000vx's. my waist is in between a 30 and 31, so about 30.5. im looking for a slim-ish fit, but still want some extra room. not sure how i should size. and also how much these would stretch. if anyone could help me out it would be most appreciated.

The ~11000 posts preceding yours has all the information you need. Have fun!

Get the 30. The s5000vx denim stretches quite a bit.
