You've mentioned that before.
But what is nonsense about tea core?

Some belts are dyed through in black e.g., so they will stay black no matter how much wear.
Others are brown underneath. So the term tea core tells me that with jackets, shoes, belts, etc..
Don't see what is hype/nonsense about that.

Yes that’s correct - some leathers are struck through, some aren’t

Tea-core has been mythologised into an actual leather type and very often is also used in a qualitative aspect … utter nonsense

The phrase has been bastardised from a simple figurative description of how a leather colour shows through the surface finish

I see. Like "this belt is chashin, so it's super pricey and rare blablabla".

Still an important detail, like some black jeans will fade and some are dyed in such a way that they won't.
Important to know which is which when you want to buy some.

But sure, just a piece of information and not some ultra rare thing.

Does anyone have experience with belts from Trophy Clothing?

30,000 yen feels a little on the high side but I do like the buckle a lot.

Not sure what kind of ‘experience’ you’re meaning but the buckle looks similar in style to those used by The Flat Head, Real McCoys etc. Probably Himeji leather.

If it’s a genuine pressed steel buckle then those are more expensive than brass or zamak

They say it’s an  ‘industrial’ iron buckle cut from a plate and pressed.
I guess that explains the price.

The word industrial is just sales patter - if it’s pressed then it’s steel, that’s the norm. It’ll explain the price if it suits your purpose 👍

Sun and moon - definitely one of the most imaginative designs I’ve been tasked with. Wickett & Craig bridle, Japanese brass buckle with chemical treatment, brass and nickel hardware with yellow chalcedony and blue lace agate gemstones

Anchor brand buckles are vintage

North & Judd started out in the early-mid 1800s and were eventually bought out in the 1970s. Certain styles and materials (especially pressed steel) are highly prized by the Japanese belt manufacturers

A belt for Tyler Bryant of Tyler Bryant & the Shakedown fame (check them out if you haven’t listened)

Wickett & Craig harness, Japanese buckle in nickel plated brass and jet gemstones set in antique brass hardware

Didn't know the band. Just checked.
Great music.
And another cool belt.
