I’ll see what I can do, does anyone have a clue, when denim jeans were first being creased? When did the whole- creasing of pants even start? I’ve never looked into it.

Judging from every goddamned childhood photo of me the evidence squarely points to on or around my birth.

it was invited in the small suburban town pleasantville at the era when jeans wouldn't´t have been only worn by farmers and workers but from little tommy who's mum would had pressed em to look at least a little preppy in a pair of jean, a sacrifice for not wearing slacks. and then the 60s sta prests came :ph34r2:

Wrangler Duffle Coat i found at one of those pay-by-weight flea markets a few years ago, couldn't find any information about it. Looks like 80s/90s to me. Lovely buffalo plaid lining, sleeves are a little short, but no problem if you wear gloves.

Was light enough to snap some pics for this thread, so l dug out what l have to add my 2 cents.

Photographs of these two pieces still in the Lee thread from 11 years ago but here's some fresh shots.

Late 1960's Lee 100J 'Westerner' and early 60's Lee 101LJ 'Stormrider' -

Think that Wrangler jacket is the business Doc - and it’s so good to know you are old enough to call your clothes ‘vintage’ ...

Thanks Duke, vintage or antique, it's just a name, and l am a mere padawan to a  vintage veteran such as yourself. To me the features and details are what set these things apart. A mixture of great (wearable) design classics.

Aye very good Anakin

But there’s the nub of it wearable design classic. So good they still are relevant.

storage shed scrap, thrown out sometime in the early 1890's. I thought this scrap was from your typical- watch pocket shirt, like the LVC shirt you see in the picture...it's not, the scrap pocket is left breast, and not your tiny size- for a watch pocket.

Here’s a 1930s shirt with a similar pocket, just slightly narrower and taller:

Not much change- from the 1890’s to 1930’s and beyond?

I would say by the 1940s this style began to disappear; most work shirts even would have “button-through” chest pockets as standard, something that in the 1920s wasn’t always standard.

Interested to see how collars changed; I know that at the turn of the century and even into the 1910s collars tended to be shorter and more square, not spearpoints of the 1930s and ‘40s:

I should probably say, that shirt pocket wasn’t used much in the 1870’s, saying it wasn’t around is most likely false (I’ll check some of my old pictures)

A perfect example of an 1870’s collar, look at any Levi triple pleat made- say around 2011-12. If I still had a triple pleat I would post a pic...this collar shape definitely changed in the 1880’s.

Figured I should post my vintage shirts here.
The left flannel is romanian vintage, super soft flannel, should be 60s to 80s. The one on the right I got deadstock at one of those pay-by-weight fleamarkets, should be 80s/90s.

left to right:
vintage from romania, selvedge fabric, probably 60s/70s, got a few similar ones laying around at my parents place, but those mostly don't fit right....
3 x random vintage, probably 80s/90s, weird, kind off stretchy fabric, but makes for a great overshirt a`la Tender in summer

Stopped by a thrift store after work last week, I started walking back to my car when I saw at least 20 people waiting in line- but I had the time...so i waited, In a sea of modern crap, this old tag stood out.

Then I noticed the black bar tacks on the back pocket...At that point, one still can't believe that you have a selvedge pair of pants, checked for selvedge

then I checked the back pocket- this was my first single stitch found while thrifting.

Definitely incredibly risky and it doesn't seem he or his partner are the most professionally trained, etc. to be doing things like this! Honestly got a bit of an adrenaline rush watching, but hopefully they keep it safe moving forward. I'd love to hear some of your stories some day @Sansome1877, I'm sure you've seen some sketchy things as well!

I didn't realize there are actually a few videos out there, here's another with Levi's, Stronghold, etc. found in case anyone hasn't seen it (my first time watching). Funny that it seems all of them know of Brit:
