Away westwards on a v rare short trip. 
Across to Mull with the sky closed in until a brief break in the clouds gave us a view of the lighthouse from the ferry over. 



plus a Misty morning start and a lush sunset.

also saw An opportunity : a new chance to work anywhere….( Midge cream needed)

And the TCB40’s as they are (a brightened shot) as had a handy mirror in the cottage

I maybe owe a better jeans update for the contest - it’s been a year after all   But a sort of fit pic combined showing the wear (or lack of it)

They haven’t been my only jeans this 12 months -  but I’ve worn them a lot and like them a lot.

Hi everyone!  On September 9th my pair turned one year old.Hahaha

When I was wearing a window frame at work, I sat on a window sill with waterproof tape, and the tape stuck to my butt ... OMG

That is also a good memory.

Started to get a bit cooler here in Sweden so started wearing jeans again. Haven’t been completely faithful to the 40’s though. Missed about 2-3 months maybe.
Feels like they get better every wash. Can’t really say how many washes they’ve been through but maybe 7-8. Line dry except 1 trip in the dryer. Patch is still quite smooth and supple. Might have given it some mink oil early on.

Definitely agree I’m looking at the jacket but keeping the contest jeans on till the end

Many photos coming, be warned. I turned 40 this last week and took a motorcycle trip through some of the Eastern Seaboard. We rode into Mystic, CT from Brooklyn and stayed the night. We visited the historic seaport along with their little old town village where we had very contemporary vegan donuts and coffee. It was nice to see that they recognized the singular history they had been telling and had erected a series of "The Sea Unites Us" plaques to tell stories of the ocean not belonging to exclusively white men. Met an old timer there with a great old time Americana tattoo.

Our second stop was Provincetown, MA. Just gorgeous everything: food, people, queerdos, bungalows and weather. We stayed for two nights and could easily have stayed longer.

After that it was a pit stop overnight in Springfield, MA where we blew the opportunity to get pictures of the bikes in front of the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame that was literally across the parking lot from our hotel. *face palm* It was a lovely way to usher in a new year. I think the 800 or so miles whipped a bit of indigo out the jeans. I'll be washing and documenting again soon.

Loving the updates everyone! So many gorgeous pairs. I wouldn't know where to cast a vote.

Thanks, @bartlebyyphonics. The last few years have felt more like, "Ok, I'm ready for 40 already." Haha. 20s were for drinking my face off. 30s for growing tired of it and eventually drying out. More recently, it's been actually being present for life and engaging with living it. I'm looking forward to these 40s.

#41 here with a slightly belated one year check-in.

This shot seems to represent the colors fairly accurately, and was taken right before my dog ran off with the jeans.

After I let her outside, I was able to capture photos of the full front and rear.

Minus maybe two weeks off during the coldest part of the winter (switched to heavyweight PBJs) and probably a month off during the hottest part of the summer (wearing shorts cause it was so dang hot and humid), these have been my daily drivers since the start of the contest.  Washed and dried a dozen or more times by now.  I really like the cut -- if the rise was 1" lower these would probably be the perfect cut for me.  The fabric is also very interesting, and I'm enjoying watching the fades slowly progress [very slowly compared to many of the recent posters, wow!].  I knew before getting these that TCB had a reputation for great roping, and these definitely don't disappoint in that department.

This is a first for me - I never had a pair of jeans getting re - hairy haha. I guess it’s the weft wearing off in a weird way.

I keep forgetting to update too. Or slack on doing so. Happy one year plus a bit, pretty cool to see everyone’s pairs coming along.

Here are mine at 290 days, washed em again after this and they’re still drying. Might be in need of a few repairs soon. Looks like the left knee, rear pocket (due to phone), and combs are all wearing thin. I’ve been reading a few how tos on sashiko, and may try that.
