The 221 is a BigE model, it shares details from the 220 and 224 as an in-between model.

The 224 comes with the "standard 66 denim" and an "Ishikawadai denim". The cut should be the same but the latter is slimmer in the legs. 

Oh and an ecru and black version is also available of the 224 model.

How different are the Ishikawadai from the standard?  And having never owned a pair of Denime, how accurate are Warehouses interpretation?

No idea, I haven't handled them. The sizing info is based on discussion with Naoki from BEARS. 

The jeans feel more like Warehouse than Denime, especially the latter interpretations. That said, I really like the 220 model and the original 224 denim has a similar feel to the old Orizzonti 66 denim. Also a very prominent twill.

These fit great, there's something about this fabric that I love too. It's nothing above and beyond what Warehouse usually roll out, but there's a character to it that just sits right. It's less rough and textured than the WH banner denim, and it's thicker than dead stock blue which I find to be a touch toooo thin.

I'll take some pics laid flat and alongside the worn in 47's for comparison at some point soon.

Cracking fit. Definitely getting my 220a hemmed now even though there's some decent roping already

Really kicking myself that I didn't pick up the 220A's while BEARS still had my size in stock. Didn't think I'd have enough time before the WOMCON/WOMBAT but the extra month with the contest delay would've worked out 🥲 Looking at the 220XX-47 now too, @Alec Leamas appreciate your updates! @aho frankly me neither! - they've now fallen out of favour due to the new addition of the 54 cut. The denim used for both cuts is fantastic.

Hey, new user here (finally).. Anyone have the new XX 54 cut and any fade examples of the new XX denim? Considering in securing a pair of the new XX models, although with a wider straight fitting pair. Also, I hear they're releasing a WW2 model too with a different denim? Any idea when will it be released? Thanks! 😬

Hi there! Great to have you here!

I have both the 47 and 54 cut in the new banner denim, my 47’s got a few months wear and have some fade character. The 54’s I started wearing on Christmas Eve so are still very new. Denim is lovely though. I’m planning on sharing some photos of the faded and the new side by side soon!

I don’t believe any proper faded images have been shared anywhere. I suppose that’s because it’s so new!

I highly recommend either cut in the denim, by the way!

That’s correct yes, they’re more straight down from the knee, the 47’s have more of a taper. 
 

They are indeed made of the exact same fabric yes!

Missed your initial mention of the WW2 pair sorry, from looking at the Denime chart a few pages back it does look as though they will be made of a different fabric. I’m keen on picking those up as well, though they won’t get any wear for ~18 months or so, depending on when they are produced!

I sized the same in both, the waist is a few cm bigger in the 54’s but with the rest of the measurements coming in similar I went with the same size, and it worked out just right. 
 

As said, the waist is slightly bigger. The rises are marginally lower, the thigh is marginally wider, then there’s less taper from the knee down.

Popped out the 47’s today while the 54’s are in the wash. Love how these are looking now.
