The Sneakers we wear with our jeans

Flash

Recommended Posts

So after waiting @ 15 years for Nike to re-release the original Air Max 1 in the original  colourway I instantly copped them on release. (After boring the wife about them for years I had to)

I actually had a pair stashed in a box for a rainy day but took them out around 8 years ago and the suede had literally rotted off....

Anyway , when they arrived  loved them but could have swore they had a red section on the front grip...blamed it on memory fade.

Turns out they did on the pair released a few weeks later!

Cue 2nd pair purchased in a month.

Those little 5's are class ... the 2's as well .

I'd love to pick up a pair of bred 4's but I've never owned a pair of 4's and im not sure how I'd get on with the chunkier shape ... ? Im sure ill end up with a pair at some point

Got these 2013 bred 1's about 6 weeks ago and ive put countless miles into them , really nice shoe and a colourway that I've wanted for ages . Prices are crazy for breds but I got these for a decent price , being honest I would have preferred the 2016 release but I didn't want to miss out on these and end up having to pay double for some 2016 .

As usual I stained the midsole and swapped the laces for some foxtrot laces .

Really I can only think of 3 more jordan 1's that I'm after

1 . Kentucky

2 . Black toe

3 . And last 1 of the meralic pairs .... maybe a navy or purple

When it comes to our li'll collective it's aesthetics first and comfort second, vise-versa and we'd all be comparing fade patterns of our panda bear onesies.. so aesthetics aside for the moment. I think you'd struggle to find anything more comfortable than a pair of Nike runners from any era.. but i suppose, when you look at how much technology and innovation Nike have poured into their sole units over the decades.. is there any wonder.

Eh. I've put thousands of miles in on roads and trails over the years and while I do agree Nike runners are comfortable, nothing is happier for my feet than birkenstocks - a pair that's been somewhat broken in, that is. I'd be wearing nike runners (instead of birks) most days if that weren't the case, because there's not a pair of birks that I put on for looks. I cringe a little bit at the look every time I step into my londons or my bostons but once they're on it's basically the next best thing over barefoot. If I'm wearing sneakers I still think skate/court shoes will look better than runners with jeans any day though, unless you're Seinfeld.

once you've gone Profi Birki you'll never go back. Neoprene footbed for service/care industries, and a higher back than Super Birkis so they don't slip off.

^haha - I’d never heard of them before. But, I’ve got no reason to go for them - not being in a care industry. Wouldn’t blame anyone if they did, but those a bridge too far for me.
I’ve spent more time than I care to admit in a hospital this year because of my son, and will confirm I’ve seen more than a few pairs of Bostons on amongst brain surgeons etc.

I can’t find any info. Are they shutting it down completely? Pulling out of the U.S. market?  I like Asics a lot but never owned any onitsuka tigers, so they were on my radar

Picked up a pair of Catchball sneakers,  pretty affordable from Musinsa (which I think is just a Korean proxy shop?).
These are probably going to be my go-to for canvas sneakers going forward, the Ortholite sole is nice and cushioned.
Canvas feels sturdy, unlike the US Rubber sneakers I got last year. I went for a size 30 which equates to US 12 and they feel great.
