Speaking of geography teacher shoes, after seeing a pair of Aurora Shoe Co Middle English clogs at Drake's in NYC and needing some new house shoes, I ended up ordering a pair direct from Aurora. Drake's unfortunately had none in my size - which is a shame as they had a really nice roughout pair. Though in hindsight, not sure if geography teacher or a carpenter from Jerusalem whose been dead for 2000 years.

Gave my 0105ss' their first machine wash and they shrunk more than I thought even on cold. Inseam shortened up a little and got some more leg twist. They've already loosened up quite a bit after a day or so of wear. Really enjoying these so far!

Never! This is just a question of layering strategies, really.

I think you would be safer to buy from the stores offering a pre-order. Also Sugarcane won't sell directly to you. You would need a proxy which makes the whole buying slower

Those vibram gumlite soles are excellent for a derby if you want to wear them through the fall and winter. I have them on my russell moc oxfords.

Okay so I caved and set up a stock notification on the S1945 jeans - I'm clearly craving a war model at the moment. Laughing to myself about me being so certain on not buying other jeans this year 😂

The Ashinary is my favourite model too.. i just think this type of sole is too hefty for such a shoe. Looks like something i'd expect to see on a modern work boot.

I find the Ashinary derbys quite balanced. I like the look and the aging. However, I tried contacting them via emails but no reply so far. Can’t place an order to outside of Japan it would seem. I’d also like to be more sure about the size, since 10 is at risk to be too small for me, but I’ll settle for any other reply from them as well. That sock thing is weird! I didn’t give much attention to the Ichimaigawa model so I missed it

Went for coffee. Came home with an Airforce Duffle bag for £35! Looks issued but unused. Mint condition. Fairly modern I assume. Has a very faint Airforce stamp on it. Great red contrast stitching, for no reason is my guess. I assume its for flight kit like helmet and overalls? ‘Kitbag Flyers’

Updated fit on mine with likely final inseam length! Honestly I’ve never had jeans fit this well in the top block before. I know this is going to sound like “denim nerd draws parallels between one generic 501 iteration and another generic 501 iteration” but these are feeling to me like a Warehouse 1001XX with a better top block for me. Lovely stuff.
