  4. Updated fit on mine with likely final inseam length! Honestly I’ve never had jeans fit this well in the top block before. I know this is going to sound like “denim nerd draws parallels between one generic 501 iteration and another generic 501 iteration” but these are feeling to me like a Warehouse 1001XX with a better top block for me. Lovely stuff.

  5. Pulled out some banner denim for the first time in a while. Denime/Cushman/WH Duck digger/Franks I really like the lap fades on these. I just wish that they were 1-2” longer in the inseam. The Rockets are shaping up to have some nice whiskering at least and I will be more careful drying them (not having a newborn will help)

  6. So the first 5150s I posted were a little less than chart, so Simo wanted to replace them... hence take 2 The new pair arrived last Friday - given the anticipation, I forgot the date stamp pic... so here's the delivery confirmation date and time instead 😉 Top job by Simo who's a top bloke... lovely denim, really well sewn... much slimmer than my usual which will take some adjusting... I do lots of leg weights to protect my knees... so the reasonably svelt top block and waist are snug for me... hindsight being a wonderful thing, I should have gone 1-2 sizes bigger (anyone wants a swap, hit me up ) Raw fit pics 1st wash was cold machine, hang dry; wore for a few hours. Then I rolled the dice... 30C wash, stretched the waistband while wet (which gave me 1cm) then hung dry... Meanwhile we went for pizza... alas, featuring FW WW2 denim Final pics are after a 3 mile walk earlier... pleased to hear there's more stretch to come too as I'm going to need it

  8. After driving 350 miles from Brighton (that’s a long drive in the UK) up to the Lake District to visit my Dad yesterday, here's the view from his window of Bowscale. Just near the more famous Blencathra. It’s bloody cold too. Looked like this on 11th January though. Much prettier.

  9. What up B_F!! Long time my dude! This denim looks fascinating. Sad to see I might have missed something very exciting and SuFu-based, but haven’t been on the forum in a min. I’m looking forward to seeing all the progress and reading through the posts here, but wanted to say ‘Hell yeah!’ For all the efforts I’ve read from you thus far my guy!

  10. I think my Momotaro 0901s had a 38” or 39” inseam when raw for a size 32 waist.

  14. My 311s arrived the day after I left the country for a few days so I didn't get them till Tuesday. Soaked and then washed at 30 degrees on Wednesday. Raw fit in first pic, post-wash in second (obviously). Fit is slightly slimmer than I anticipated in the leg but not too slim (I hope - thighs might get bigger again once I get over my patellar tendinitis). And I bought them to be a slim pair anyway. I think the waist will be spot on. If it stretches further than I'd like it won't matter too much cos I also went for a shortish inseam. Long term I see these as jeans for the summer.

  16. Crap photos but I wore my pair yesterday playing golf at the oldest golf course in Texas (1899). Normally wouldn’t wear jeans on the course, but this is a casual 9 hole walking only muni course, no dress code and only $18. A few friends and I play here every month or so. Fun way to spend an afternoon.

  23. Sorry for the lack of posts lately, things are very busy personally and with Tender- it feels like forever, but we've still only been in the US five months! Thank you so much @julian-wolf @chicote and @clawbytes for fantastic photos. More things coming, but in case it's of interest to anyone, I'm doing a project with students at University of Wisconsin-Madison, and will be doing a public talk on Tuesday Feb 4th at 3.30 Central Time. It'll be livestreamed and there's a signup here: https://cdmc.wisc.edu/event/understandable-design-and-perfect-imperfections-with-william-kroll-of-tender-co/ I'm putting together a bunch of Tender garments and my own things, which I'll show and discuss. Hopefully it'll be interesting!

  26. I have to say, loving these jeans so far. Sized it just right. There's plenty of room in the hips without dipping under the belt too badly. Stock room casual this morning doing grunt work.

  28. Tender makes the longest jeans I’ve ever gotten - I think they tend to come around 38” if not a little longer.

  34. & After their soak… They shrunk quite a bit! The waist is tight for now, but I have a feeling they’ll fit very well after a few days’ wear. Anyway, I needed an excuse to get my waist line back to where it was a year or two ago…

  36. I'm not anymore as anal as I used to be with these sort of things. Day one here. I'ts a beautiful windy day and I work from home so the jeans are already dry from a lukewarm soak and this is how they fit. The waist stretched back easily, the rest of it shrunk to perfection. I'm only tempted to toss them in the machine for peace of mind later on and to take another couple cms off the inseam length. I'm delighted with the jeans, love the fit! great denim, light but crunchy, I feel it'll fade great. I can totally see me being loyal to these jeans for the most of the next 18 months, easily.

  37. Here are the post-wash measurements and some fit pics for the Rockets (size 32). Roughly a 7.5% shrinkage across the board I’m sure that the front rise and waist will stretch a decent amount Waist: 15.5” Front Rise: 11.5” thigh: 12.5” Leg Opening: 8.7” Inseam: 32.5” I went back and forth between size 31 and 32. Kato-San said that either would work but recommended 32 because the pattern is more balanced. I’m happy with my choice. I like the fit a lot. It feels like there is more room in the crotch than the rise measurement suggests. The denim is also really dark with a coarse hand feel. They should be slow faders. According to Kato-San, the yarn have been dyed deeply with more than 12 dying steps. I’m excited to get some good wear on these starting in 2025. I’ll get some better photos in WAYWT too once the snow clears some and the sky is less grey

  38. I haven’t taken photos of pants, because I’m currently wearing 1/2 of them. I also haven’t taken photos of tees (2x), a whole big slew of socks, nor a variety of smaller things (shades, watch, mugs, gloves, kerchief, ???). With those exceptions out of the way, finally: jackets & coats. Shown first are the Type 961 Baste Pocket Jacket, in red ochre cotton velvet; the Type WS922 Welsh Flannel Curve Front Jacket (Thanks Austin!); the Type 425 Double Cuff Flat Jacket, in some sort of very soft (felted?) wool. Last but not least are the Tenth Anniversary Edition Type 900 and the standard Type 902.

  39. Photo dumps incoming! First, sweaters. Shown are the Type 799 Mirror pPanel Double Pullover, in blackberry stitch lambswool; the Type 781 Tube Neck Pullover, in cold felted lambswool; the Type 751 Wide Rib Barnacle Neck Pullover, in Shetland wool blind fair isle knit wool. The Mirror Panel Pullover, in particular, is a long time favorite. (Not shown are both the cardigan and the turtleneck version of the Pop Punch Rap Promoter sweater, the latter of which was a gift from my partner.)
