Solid black Buffalos. I’ve had these since 2016 but wore them sparingly as I kept them for slightly smarter wear. More recently I’ve started wearing them regularly to the point where they need a crotch repair. They’re a bit darker and less grey in real life than my iPhone photos show. You can also see how Ande’s lockstitch hemming technique enables strong roping.14 points

Been a couple days since I've had a busy week. Last night I serged and topstitched the inseam and sewed the outseams as well. My brother wanted purple topstitching down the inseam, but I got in a groove last night and used yellow. Didn't catch my mistake till after I got the outseams and the topstitching on the hips, so I had a lot of backtracking to do. I was afraid things would end up sloppy but everything stitched up nicely imo.9 points

I couldn’t resist this anniversary piece. It doesn’t even ship until December and I still ordered it. https://www.celluloid1984.com/?pid=1802398282 points

I made a detailed review of the 3A-1-CR. I've wanted a 3A-1 for about a decade and since I own three interops jackets I knew I'd have to face that insane price point at some point in my life, so here I am!2 points

I’ve been wearing mine around half the time for the last couple of weeks, splitting time with the S601XX First “modern” SC jeans I’ve had in a while, since the lot 401 (ca. 2017–2019), and I’m really pleased with them. The fit is perfect, less slim than the Hawaii and the Okinawa1 point

The rep system… Most people, if using the rep system, give a standard, green, positive rep symbol to a post they like. If they really like a post they’ll give it the yellow super-rep one and if they don’t like a post (I assume they must really dislike something as it’s not used often) they give it the red, negative rep. I understand all of this, it’s completely logical. What I don’t understand (and I’m not criticizing it), is why (and therefore when) do people use the blue rep icon? I assume it’s because they like a post, but not quite enough to give it a positive rep. Is it a neutral acknowledgment of a post that’s interesting or informative in some way? Please, blue rep users, explain your justification to me and satisfy my curiosity! 😁 I wonder if anyone will give me a blue rep as a response…1 point

Well l don't know for sure if these are based on "historical facts" but l would certainly take any info from them with a huge pinch of salt after hearing that the 'one piece sleeve' model of their s406xxx (506xx repro) that was based on a model made in 1946 only, is in fact just a production quirk and many 506XX models made between 1946 and 1950 (and probably pre 1946) have this feature. Tbh it's probably just their 'fun way' to distinguish between the range of product quality during WW2 for marketing purposes.1 point

Spent a couple evenings this past week tending dye pots of cochineal and red cabbage Both dyes were new to us, so so far it’s just been testing out different fabric treatments & dye additives, with some cheap silk handkerchiefs and some little cotton & linen test strips1 point

Went to Clutch in London for the Yamane pop up store, got to shake his hand and kind of talk to him but mainly got him recommend some pieces for me and walked away with these. I like the taper as the straight leg version looked a bit shapeless and short on me, these are roomy in the top block and tighten up as they go down. They are the one wash version and crispy right now and was wondering if I should bother with another hot wash, not sure how much the patch can endure.1 point
