Finally got the photos from this weekend on the computer. Spent the weekend in the Rockies.

24 hours in Paris..

Arrived @ CDG @ around 9am

Got to the hotel @ around 10:30am

Waited in the lobby to get a room until noon

spent half an hour in the room to do some last minute research as well as a nice shower

to make it denim related (SC40051 UnionStars, Uniqlo, ALD, Vans)

12:45pm, got a bicycle.. started riding around Paris..

Saw the arc, rode around the streets, almost getting killed every minute by traffic

had lunch around 2pm.. Blue Ribbon Ham, Duck Breast, Gran Marnier flaming crepe.. found a fd from Toronto who happens to be @ Paris as well on FB and set up dinner appt

walked around Champ de Elysee..

got thirsty, bought a Heineken becoz it's cheaper than water

got really tired, slept in a Park for an hour while enjoying the weather..

@ around 4pm.. rode the bicycle to around Rue St Honore, went to a few nice shops, did some window shopping..

started riding back @ around 5pm.. got back to the city, went to McDs for a frappe..

and then walked around a bit more, went to Nespresso to get a nice coffee drink..

walked a bit more and met up with the fd @ LV...

went to Laduree to get some famous macarons..

went to dinner, had foie gras and duck breast again..

after dinner, attempted to get a bike to ride back and do a roundabout around the arc, but Spain won, the roads became really dangerous

took the subway

got back @ the hotel around 11:30 midnight..

woke up @ around 7:30am.. went down and had one of the best buffet breakfast.. simple yet tasty fresh grapefruit juice, awesome runny scrambled eggs, pear slices, peach slices, apple sauce, dried sausage, dried ham, prunes, croissants.. i chowed down 3 croissants..and a whole bunch of other stuff

went to the bakery and got some croissants and baguette to bring back to Toronto and also got 2 bottles of Wine

went to the big, cool zoo this time, (seem to be at the zoo at least once a week. the little one is obsessed with animals, which is great. makes for fun days.)

saw lots of amazing animals, most of them (the ones I didn't photograph because i'm not in possession of a telephoto lens at the moment) live in natural biomes which are maintained in their wild state here at the Minnesota Zoo. kinda cool considering we're used to seeing animals in more "direct" captivity than this.

then dad and grandpa went to the liquor store to grab a 12 pack of Nordeast....and we played too.

it was a beautiful day in the [industrial] neighborhood..

This is sort of a "what my jeans did 2 days ago over the past 2 days"

It started with 5 photos:

Then I took the frames apart:

Then I couldn't do anythign with them, so instead after work I went to check out a free movie playing in brooklyn bridge park - it was packed, so I basically took a couple of long exposures and left:

The next day I went and....

put my photos up for a show for the next 2 months at a cafe here in Brooklyn.

I've got my camera with me basically every day - if not my nikon, then my iphone (for beach days)

Same. I've always got my Canon with me. I use it almost everyday at work..and outside of that its become my #1 EDC item..everytime I forget it I'm looking around wishing I had it.

My bigger issue is not having the lens I want on my camera at any time (I only bring one with me) - I'd say about the same as -Z-, when I don't have it I'm normally wishing I had it.

my man had some earthquake commision work to do in the far north so i went along for the ride, we stopped in all the little towns for food, but i r stupid and forgot my camera

this is the food i came home with

from get fudged in Paihia his daughter and i got sugar crazy

i stopped at an old friends in the Hokianga for a cup of tea and he gave me some of his melon konfet

trying not to eat more than one an hour

had friends over for tea and to watch the all blacks v's the springboks

made my version of huntsmans stew

lamb, beef, pork

added herbs spices garlic and onion

added venison sausages and leeks and mushrooms

forgot to take photos when it was done... served on yorkshire puddings with potatoes mashed with cream cheese and steamed brocolli and had homemade hazelnut icecream for pudding

while the slowcooker was doing its thing i made use of some of the citrus i have in my back yard,,, grapefruit, lemon, tangello and a lime

added water and a ton of sugar

and stuck it jars

perfectly bitter marmalade

this is why my jeans dont fit me dot com

my saturday started with stoping by george's camera and plopping down $40 to rent a 85mm f1.2L II for a few days to see if i want to buy one. then the lens came with me next door for some breakfast. while i waited for the food to show, i started shooting:

out on the town today. my parents kindly took my daughter down to their place for this entire week...(she has been asking for a while) so that frees myself and the wife up for things we normally don't do. AKA GOING OUT. lol.

lets just say it was a busy day. swimming in the morning, then back home before the rain started. got some shots in during / after the storm. went in to work to do some shooting for an hour or so, then out to the bar for cheese fries and a beer. one of my favorite sundays in recent memory!

so Tuggs tavern is a sweet bar right on the not busy side of Minneapolis downtown, on "old" main street. its a brick paved road with some really great spots on it. in fact, i had my wedding reception next door to here in an old warehouse...(now i live in a warehouse, i'm really redundant, huh?)

so I had a Shocktop, the wife had a cider, and we shared a basket of cheese fries while watching the sun set over the city.
