Anybody pick up one of these bad boys?

I wasn't going to buy any jeans until  WOMCOM was over but couldn't help myself. Not sure if I sized correctly because the size charts are all over the map, and Warehouse is quoting 7-8cm of shrinkage in the waist lol.

I just received a pair of the Warehouse Lee's from Hinoya. Nice denim!

@Dr_Heech The funny thing about those Lee's is that they predate the "Diamont Stitching" of the arcs to Levi's up to 5 years, if I'm correct here.

Correct. This type of arc used on Lee cowboy pants had the 'diamond ' from roughly 1936 onwards.

Did Lee use the arcs parallel to their own back pocket design?

Sorry mate l'm editing the post because l misunderstood, no not as far as l'm aware. Single needle arcs until 1935/36(?) I think, then twin needle until 1942.  Blank pockets during the war (?) Then Bullhorn from 1944ish onwards l'm guessing.

Some beautiful recent releases from Lee Japan, firstly the 1945 101-J prototype model with older style Lee cowboy buttons and also the early 1950s version of the Lee 101-LJ  with separate liner (the model before the first Stormrider labelled model) -

Both are really well replicated imo and l'd buy both in a heartbeat but l'd never get round to wearing them; l have an og Stormrider and that doesn't get enough wear as it is - so l wonder why l want them so?

I think part of it is that they look like perfect clones and that rarity of Nos/deadstock/raw vintage pieces appeals to me as though l was briefly stepping back in time and picking these items out to wear from new. It fuels my imagination l guess but the reality is l'm much less active than l was due to health issues so they would just live on a hanger most of their lives. Just wish they'd produced these some 10/15 years ago 😪

Lee Archives really does a great job in reproduction. Certainly better than LVC but we kinda know that 😅

And also fairer priced.

They do! I once owned an original version of the 101LJ with the separate liner and their version looks spot on. That blanket looks crunchy 😍

hey Dr.!  Can you please share a link where current Lee Archive Japan denim is available? Thank you in advance!

I don't know how to link but it's easier to go through Instagram.

Lee Archives items are usually found on the Lee Japan website. I’d imagine those storm rider photos from Doc H are from Instagram and not yet on the website.

Son of a Stag also have some Archives items if you’re feeling minted!

Thanks. Unfortunately the Lee Japan site doesn't allow for shipping to the US.

Yeah, Son of Stag prices are crazy and they're sold out of most of items I would be interested in.

Could be worth using a proxy, no?

Love the look of this! Looks to have had a really short pre-release reservation period that is closed as of earlier today 😳 if they go on general sale I may get one - I too have an OG storm rider and the cropped and boxy fit is so good, would love to wear one in from fresh myself

Agreed, the temptation l have to purchase that early 50's 101LJ feels almost tangible.

Many nice details.

I have the SDA version.
It's quite narrow in the chest. But so is this one. For a 44- 60.5 cm. And since it's NON/WASH (but sanforized apparently) it will shrink another 2cm. So similar to the SDA one then.

These imo are go large or go home. I had a Lee Japan repro stormrider years ago in a snug fit... definitely nah, each to their own though... my personal opinion only 😀
