Thanks for the comments on my chucks. To those that were wondering, I taped around the toebox, cleaned the toe with some alcohol and put three layers of gloss black on it. I bought the lacquer because I thought I'd need it since I scuff my toebox so much, but haven't actually put it on yet. The laces are just stretchy cord like on JV cons.
