I soaked my skull 6x6 in hot water for almost two hours yesterday and let them air dry. I dont think the legs shrunk up at all. Should I soak them again or Should I send them in to get Hemmed?

Did you buy raw or one wash (please say raw)? Either way...they shouldn't shrink much more...but a 2nd hot soak wouldn't hurt just in case (unless they're one wash...in which case you suck)

I am going to buy a pair of Loomstate Genus Veg Dye. If I need them to measure around 33 in the waist, what size should I order?

No...only if loose major indigo if the jeans are agitated in the water...so soaking with no movement is fine. At least then you'll have confirmation that no more major shrinkage will occur.

I have a question--

I wear a size 30" waist in Levis 501s and I am planning to get a pair of Nudie Super Slim Kims. Should I get the Nudies in size 30 or can I size down to get an even slimmer fit? Thanks for any help

^^ Nudies stretch out A LOT! so size down 1 for a regular fit and 2 for a slimmer fit. They stretch so much. for example my waist is a 32/33 so I always buy a 32 in pretty much every jean, with the nudies (even steven model) i went with a 31 and the waist is now too big and I don' t really like wearing them anymore.

I'm looking for some new jeans and need some help. I want a couple of nice pairs that look good for going out (ie, hitting lounges, clubs). I would want them to look good with a blazer or a nice shirt and a pair of upscale sneaks.

I'm 5'8", 156, 32 inch waist, but a bit long in the torso. I'm not to keen on the ultra tapered look, and frankly, some that i've tried on can't get past my calves.

Any advice would be appreciated. Your opinion, pointing me to the right thread in the denim encyclopedia,etc.

When you grow up, you'll realize that blazers never go out of style...some of us are adults who work and would like to be able go from work to wherever w/o changing. I used the term club as a generic term, could be lounge, bar, restaurant, etc.

If i'm wearing a collection privee blazer with a tee..what would you suggest for pants.

Tapered/Ultra: I'm not keen on the way skinny look...7 inch openings. So, i don't see myself in slim jims, julian's, etc. Many of those who wear them will look back and cringe when they see themselves in pics.

I'm all for well cut, body concious jeans, but prefer straight or slightly tapered.

That's what high school boys put on to try to get into clubs with fake ID's. If you want to wear jeans, get something that's flattering and not shaped too trendy and skinny, like APC New Standards, and pair it with a button-up shirt and a coat. If you want to wear a blazer, wear a casual button-up shirt underneath...loose the tie and skip the jeans.

Your perspective is one of someone who i'm guessing hasn't reached the age of 25, so I would hardly listen to you about what is "grown up". I don't watch entourage (well aware of it) but i'm not making decisions based on what they do nor am i ruling out choices because of them, that is just plain stupid. People have been wearing blazers and jeans forever, including preppies with a standard brooks brother blazer and jeans.

I also think you are bringing a bias to the thread. I know where i live and what works. And, the blazer thing is a west coast kinda thing. You don't have to like it or wear it, but understand it. It would be foolish of me to wear all black in AZ, besides attracting heat it would look outta place, this isn't NYC. Or wear some NYC streetwear, no matter how cool it was.

Lastly, one, i live in AZ. I'm rarely wearing any jackets. I've got like 3 or for Nicos that i don't wear. Second, i've got stuff like that already. I'm not posting for fashion help.

I am looking at getting a pair of nudies, maybe the ss's or es's. I don't wear tight jeans, as I don't have a great body for it. I usually wear 32w or 33w jeans. 33x32 is my true size I guess. What size nudie jeans should I be getting and what kind if I want a straight fit, but no tight pair of jeans. Not a super baggy pair, but an inbetween. maybe ralfs?

i was creasing some of my jeans with my fingernails today (i was bored) and i noticed they did quite a job on my whiskers. they look a tad artificial..anyone know how i could tone them down a bit? would starch do the trick?

tron, if you scroll through this thread, you'll probably see that gimmegimme is the one person who offers more answers and help than any other user. Don't hate man.

Also the look you are going for is not to everyones taste be they teenagers or 31 year old (like me) so let's not have an argument about who is more grown up.

As for Somet, BIG have them on their site I think http://blueingreenesoho.com but again they might be lowish rise for you. Maybe have a look at pure blue japan, the 005 is a slim fit and the 003 a regular. The denim is fantastic with a beautiful slubby texture. All the recommendations I can give will be Japanese denim. I've never worn APC or Dior as they don't really interest me, but it seems to me that is what you are after.

As for low end jeans then I have no idea because I don't wear them. Gap and Uniqlo both do some decent cuts I've heard.

dumb n00b question: I purchased from ebay a pair of vintage levis and I just got them and they smell hella musty. They're raw and sanforized so I dont really want to wash them with detergent before they even get any wear... What now, dry clean? Meh

I would dry clean. But first I would try a few tricks - put them in the freezer for an hour (kills bacteria); put them in a sealed rubbermaid bin with a box of baking soda for a few days; frebreeze the shit out of them; soak in a vinegar/water mixture; hang them outside; etc.
