I am either on a lucky streak or it's just way easier to pick up "vintage" Denime stuff than I thought it would.

Collection nearly completed, Orizzonti era pair of 66.

I already said to Ryan, the fun(ny) thing with these Orizzonti era models I recently grabbed, they come with this organic feel of a rushed production, just like vintage Levi's. And I don't have to pay Konaka-san prices for it

So not these perfectly sewn jeans we are used to from many Japanese brands over the years. And somehow I really like it (I am sure, 10 years ago or so I would have been pretty upset to get those flaws).

At PSA I saw that one can get new old stock denime jackets, but they go for around JPY 60,000, I think it was.

So @beautiful_FrEaK your 66's have a chain stitched waistband and obviusly no V stitch. Are these based on what Levis did with their 'route 66' 501's?  (Levis route 66 501's were made from c.1966-1978, because of the pocket flasher date of 1966 was used for 12 years). Or am l waay off track?

You are absolutely right @Dr_Heech.

Like nearly all 66 models from Japanese brands, they are based on the 'Route 66' model and thus feature the details you listed.

I am also on a hunt for a size 34 pair of orizzonti 66s. I have that 36 pair that is more anti-fit and I am curious to see the real fit. I love the 66 denim, very soft, almost fullcount levels of comfort.

And yeah I agree with your previous point. The second hand market is pretty hot right now. Way more goodies more often than I remember ever seeing.

Either early Denime had a shoddy QC or they were ahead of their time.

Took 2 pictures of the DENIME lineup in 1998/99.

They offered quite a lot of 60s models, dunno how big the differences between those models were though. But still nice to see.

@beautiful_FrEaK The pair with two red tabs remind me of a pair of late 60s Levis 501s with two red tabs from Long John's denim blog. Even though the Denimes seem to be a 50s cut, it's a cool detail nonetheless.

There is currently one pair of 66 in W34 from Orizzonti era on Yahoo Auction. It has been worn a bit but is still fairly dark. 9,000¥ is the price. Maybe you can track them down and see if they are worth it to you.

Ha! I have been looking at them daily and considering. Optimally I would like a bit less worn and I am not exactly hurting for another pair right now lol.

Happy mail day for me, Orizzonti-era Kyoto's (33x32) arrived a few days early and fit like a glove. The denim is incredibly soft and hairy. They almost have that sweatpants-like feel (I almost wanna say they remind me of a toned down Oni Secret Denim without the slub).
