No need to apologise mate , we all get busy especially this time of year

I think I've been Christmas shopping with Sarah every day this week ( at least I think , it's all a blur of toys and crazy shoppers )

Anyone realize we're almost at the 4 month mark? And so far (due to my lack of wear the first few months) I'm still at 0 washes aside from the initial machine wash, going against my initial plan to blast these every week in the machine...I'm thinking once I get some solid wear in and they start to smell, I'll start that weekly regimen, but since it's a contest I'll hold out for maybe another month ;)

I'm enjoying the light blue that comes out in certain pictures, although they are a lot darker in real life (as in the last picture I posted).

what I had for dinner...

Given the fabric (seems to crock a bit easier than I anticipated), I'm thinking the 4-5 month mark will be where things start to turn...Looking forward to all the updates!

nearby where i live, an old bank was converted into a walgreen's (a drug store, for our non-US friends) and they did a good job incorporating the old architecture and history of the site, while restoring a lot of pieces that were decrepit and left to rot...

8298268675_fbe246a2e1_z.jpg

they even restored the vault in the basement which is now the "vitamin vault"...here you can see an updated fit of my contest jeans...

and they even show old walgreen's products from their historical archives

headed downtown later in the day to do some christmas shopping and decided to Gyu-Kaku it up for Happy Hour, but was disappointed to see their prices went up!

nothing better than meat on a grill, with a beer to wash it down...i myself am a gyu-tan fiend...drip some lemon juice and dip it in sauce and you're good to go! btw, does anyone still play the "gyu-tan game" while drinking, or am i aging myself?

a lot of people are having early fades.

my pair has some, but since i only wear them on weekends they are still pretty dark.

i am planning to give my pair its second soak at the end of January,

so i hope to recovery my inactivity in this contest...

but yeah great seeing other contestants' updates.

hope everyone enjoyed their holiday...had an eventful past few days, pics up in a day or so...drove 35mph in a blizzard on my way back to Chicago; also slipped and fell (like an oldie) for the first time in decades while loading the car in the driveway...Luckily these jeans are tough and only my tailbone seems "faded" lol

Thought I'd take a few detail pics since there is no crazy evo yet :)

Realy love all the puckering in the seams , I've had this on all my previous pairs but nothing like this ( its a lot more pronounced on the yoke )

I'll have to keep my holiday update brief as a bunch of my pictures didn't turn out right...

went home to MI for Christmas and was taken to a cuban sandwich shop in ann arbor...

of course, I ate my share (black bean frita with avocado spread and egg)

before you know it, christmas came and went. we celebrate on christmas eve, pass out the gifts etc.

doesn't look like much, but my aunt makes hands down the BEST apple cobbler i've ever had

8314295485_7c1c98af49_z.jpg

got our christmas carols on...when we were growing up, you had to sing a million songs until "santa" came out to pass out the gifts. these song books are all from the 70's and held up pretty well lol

left yesterday, just in time for a winter storm...i'm used to 2-3 feet of snow, but the past decade or so has been strange....a few inches is now huge news...

wiped out on the driveway haha

back in chicago, off until the new year so I decided to take random pictures. here are the jeans side by side with another 60's cut of mine (Sugarcane 1966, lovely denim but have since grown out of the waist...). it's interesting to see how the patter of wear is similar as far as creasing goes

slowly but surely catching up to you guys...even with double duty (starting march 2013), I'm thinking I'll have some real beauties by the contest's end!

slab, admittedly a poorly constructed j.crew peacoat...used to work there for a bit and the discount justified the lower quality (pockets are all shredded up, buttons fall off all the time, etc. It at least helped me get in some basics while spending the real dough on denim ;)

setterman, thanks for the kind words, the SC66's (and actually all Sugarcane IMO) are the most slept on jeans in my opinion by any manufacturer. It's a shame more people don't wear them! they even went on sale at self edge a while back (no longer being carried I think?) and eve so moved slow then...a real shame indeed...

Love the olive herringbone fabric Ryo and Hiro use , cant wait to see how it ages along with the denim

^you apparently did better than I ever could then haha...last time I made it out that way, I ended up with a pair of Warehouse, Evisu and Flat Head shirts... ;)

haha last time I went to Japan I came home with a pair of Ooe's, DuckDiggers and Denime (plus 2 tees and 2 shirts!) Needless to say, my wife wants me to stay home since that moment
