I think I saw somewhere that it can only record for 12 minutes which is a bit of a shame as I was licking my lips at the chance to use it for timelapses. I'm guessing this is due to the sensor getting quite hot?

Whoa, HD video. Any info on how much video you can shoot at a time?

I wonder how dumb of an idea it is to just buy this for my photography and film/video production classes opposed to buying a DSLR and a camcorder. (5)

word its 12 mins with HD and like 29 mins in SD. And mono sound! (though it has a mic input)

I would never recommend using a DSLR for any remotely serious video work. Just won't have the controls/features you need. HD doesnt mean much, and if it's just for classwork, working with HD files isn't worth the headaches imo.

I picked up an IR filter a while back but never got around to playing with it much but am quite enjoying it at the moment, this was just a test shot of my shed where i stash all the dead bodies.

is an IR filter all you need to do stuff like this? cos ilford makes an "IR" film.. i think its the sfx something. is it a different sort of film? or does it just emphasize the reds in whatever scene youre taking a photo of? i was looking to experiment a bit with it
