is an IR filter all you need to do stuff like this? cos ilford makes an "IR" film.. i think its the sfx something. is it a different sort of film? or does it just emphasize the reds in whatever scene youre taking a photo of? i was looking to experiment a bit with it

I'm really not sure sorry man as this was done through digital but I can assume so

more like what did you eat today. also i need input: which one of these has the best lighting? I wanted it to look like its glowing, but not so much that it hurts. First one I altered the highlight, the rest I didn't touch

the first one, for sure. the second picture's angle lacks the dramatic composition of the other two. as for the third, the fingers look washed out, especially the index finger.

hope this helps.

i've found that for dark, indoor concerts like that, the best thing you can do is get a lens wide a wide aperture like f1.4 or 1.8. if you're going to be in the crowd, i'd go for a 50mm, if you're in front of the stage or on the stage, 30mm might be better. (assuming you dont have a full frame cam)

Ive shot a show with only my 50 f/18 and i got bored after like 20 shots... I was stuck in the front of the crowd (No media barrier) so I didn't have the option to move back or anything to get different shots...

I wanna get the 70-200mm f/2.8 and shoot from the back of the clubs

what settings/equipment did you use for these? they came out really well.

i plan on taking my camera to more concerts this year, would like advice on taking good concert photos.

i would say the best would be 85 f1.8

great fast focusing lens and awesome in low light
