Coming from the market in Bursa. Tired face, vacation beard and old milk records hat. Linen longsleeve/tad tight. 90s Canes 37s, forgot the model number. late night snacking on the bounty. Mandarins are sometimes ripe when the skin is still green, as I've learnt. Same goes for oranges in some cases. This should be an early variety of satsuma.12 points

Need some new songs @Double 0 Soul! This one is a doozy. Dual boot, so Apple iPod OS or RockBox where you can fully customize practically every setting and run themes. I'm currently designing and coding a theme but using one of the best ones I could find. 5.5 Gen iPod with 64MB onboard, 512GB Samsung flash on a iFlash board, 3300mAh phone battery, taptic engine (so it vibrates as well as clicks) with a transparent front, OEM black clickwheel and an older 80GB backplate (scratched up). Gets about 80 hours or so at least.10 points

Well that reminded me OO… I was a lurker for a long time on Sufu then joined up and lurked. I had no plans to post on here as that was just for weirdos wasn’t it. It could also be a bit cantankerous with a bit of keyboard warrior antics thrown in. But the denim banter and info was top notch and unique (to my knowledge) so I kept lurking… (the DB / Sufu chat the other day relates) Anyhow I was in hotter climes for a while. The water out of the tap was at least 30C. I’d gotten a new pair of jeans from Self Edge… and wanted to keep it safe with a cold soak… but the tap water wasn’t cold. So I bought bottled water, stuck it in the fridge and soaked them in a bucket I bought. The jeans came through nicely and fit – result, happy days. So I plucked up the courage to post one for the Sufu weirdos… showing what I’d done… only to be met with a volley of (well, maybe a few) negative reps… that was it then… back to lurking 😉10 points

If you care about the taste and quality of the coffee, like has been suggested, you can do a few things without danger of turning into an influencer. Coffee beans that were roasted on lower temperatures for a longer time. Only with a pressure of around 9bar apparently, which espresso machines generate (either with a pump or traditionally with the lever like the La Pavoni) can you extract the whole profile of flavours out of the bean with the crema oils, leaving the bitter components in the bean. The cafetiere, mocca stove top thing, reaches around 3bar, I think, but also not bad. If you don't want to put another gadget into your kitchen, you might like the 9barista. Made in the UK. It's similar to a stove top cafetiere, but manages to create the 9bar pressure. And a good grinder can make a difference. I used an old fashioned Zassenhausen. That was alright. But then I switched to a Comandante. There really was a difference in taste. The advantage of the 9barista and Comandante combo is that you can take it with you on trips. For cappuccino or flat whites, if you don't have an espresso machine with a steamer, I had good results, similar to MF with a little bodum jar, in which you also pump the hot milk. You don't get the nice micro foam, which to me tastes best, but it's not too shabby. The La Pavoni doesn't actually take that much space. At a friend's place I recently saw the Zuriga espresso machine, also very compact and minimalistic, but more expensive.8 points

The place we stayed in Sicily had no kettle but it did have a stove top coffee pot.. when we got back to the UK the instant coffee i was drinking previously seemed more hideous than i remembered.. 'i can't drink this shit thought i' so i made steps into the world of online coffee for recommendations.. jeez, it's more repulsive than the instant coffee i was drinking, i watched a few youtube videos.. my god! coffee influencers are a right bunch of wankers!, i did read great things about those 1Zpresso grinders but repulsed by the coffee scene, i thought 'i can't become part of this world' ..and i've gone back to instant7 points

I’m very curious to try @chicote’s recipe… New to drinking coffee for enjoyment rather than the caffeine but I’ve been using a V60 and an 1zpresso hand grinder for a lil while now and really enjoy the whole lil routine. Lots of interesting beans out there to brew!3 points

I like a good espresso but start the day with a Chemex for a nice, clean cup. I hand grind the beans with a Commadante grinder just before brewing. My missus used to make tumeric milk daily and thanks to the convo above looks like it's game on again. Done by... grate fresh tumeric root into a milk pan; add a little coconut oil and heat. When it starts to get golden, lower heat and add milk. Let it boil, then allow to go luke warm, filter it and add honey. Plus you can add cinamon to taste (if you're not Gee!)3 points

I gave up on short boxy sweats as they always end up riding up and feeling uncomfortable. All my sweats are now from Good Measure in the UK, they fit longer. https://www.goodmeasure.co.uk/collections/good-measure-m-21-sweatshirts?srsltid=AfmBOop7xnIJzj8sm73mCsfrl6HrzeMjLAQR3tRHQoWzjZqW7Fxv7fGw2 points

Neal, you don’t have to immerse yourself in all that coffee snobbery. We buy bags of coffee beans (Caffè Borbonne Miscela Blu) from a local Italian deli, grind them in a Magic Bullet and use a Bialetti stove top. We gently heat organic full fat milk from the farmers market in a saucepan and pour it into a bog standard glass cafetière and froth it by holding the lid and gently pumping the plunger up and down (a friend who worked in catering showed us this trick). Once done, give the milk a tap and swirl in the cafetière and pour gently into your coffee. You can vary the amount of coffee and milk if you prefer latte, cappuccino, etc. For a quick fix, I’ll just have a coffee bag (loads of options around now) and either drink it black or add a splash of cold milk. EDIT: we always use water that has passed through our Berkey filter.2 points

@jeash90 nothing fancy. Just a breville express. Or honestly I use a picopresso and hand grind a lot of the time when I want a different bean than is in the hamper of the breville. While I enjoy it quite a bit let’s say I get more finicky with denim ha. @MJF9 chemex is definitely my preferred way to go if I’m doing normal coffee.2 points

More Canes... these came From Japan... big thank you to @nopal who provided the tip-off this time 👍 M41030V... a '37 model, in size w36, l36 which levels out at about a w34. Interestingly laurel wreath buttons - can do more pics later They look unworn but washed... the hem has slight signs of roping and the inseam was 87 which iirc is about what my M41001 were at post-wash So I quickly tried 'em on - a nice wide fit - and stuck 'em in a 40C wash Post wash, the measurements are unchanged... I'll be calling on @Mr Black's hemming services soon2 points

@Double 0 Soul I would agree that the online world of that is ridiculous! However, one not need to be a part of that to have something better than instant. I took a set it and forget it approach, personally. (Comparison being the thief of joy and all). Found an affordable and solid espresso machine and good local beans, and a good travel solution (that’s the picopresso). Haven’t much messed with that for years now. The biggest thing is just buying good beans and grinding them before brewing. Anyways, much as I love coffee, I wouldn’t be surprised if I don’t drink it at all in a few years. This last round without caffeine has been easier than previous ones and I think it has a net negative for me. Without coffee, I sleep better and am less stressed, which is a bit of a bummer but hard to argue with.1 point

^ ha. This is what’s in our house. To be honest, I am an espresso guy. It’s all I tend to have. Pulling my shot in the morning is one of life’s primary pleasures. On occasion an Americano but not often. If I have coffee at all - usually out of necessity - it’s black. That said, I try to take some time off from caffeine about twice a year and am currently about 3 weeks (caffeine) sober, so my wife suggested some tea out of this powder. I don’t mind it. Still miss my espresso though, but I may try this in a (coffee) drink once I fall off the wagon again. Let me also register a dissenting opinion from above. Cinnamon improves a great many things!1 point

Waiper issued a year ago and now again the LVC 36 506 jacket in soze 48, apparently world wide exclusively. They're showing fits here for different people in rigid, washed and also after tumble drying. From 18:50 on. Pretty cool, how far these shops go to explain the goods they sell and help people with sizing questions.1 point

Ive been getting into overnight oats recently.. This one is a cup of oats, half a cup of coconut milk, half a cup of cows milk, handful of chia seeds and left in the fridge overnight.. I’ve sprinkled it with *turmeric superblend, handful of flaked almonds, handful of pecans and a squeeze of blossom honey. *remember that Indian fellow in the cricket whites I was chatting to in A&E when I got knocked off my bike.. he suggested turmeric as a cure all.. I’ve been into it ever since.1 point

In other news… Picked up my absolute dream pair around a month ago, the M41059. I actually already had a pair, which I’d found years ago in the same size (33) as my first M41058, but it turned out that these run around a size smaller, and there was no chance they were going to be comfortable after shrinking. These new ones are tagged 35, and in great condition. Ignoring older MP-series wares like the above, this model has always been right at the top of the list of Cane’s I’d like to find.1 point

Nothing exciting for me, got up early.. Cat was still fast asleep Yawned .. rolled over Made myself a chorizo omelette and made some pancake mix for the attic full of sleepy teenagers.. who were still up at 4am Remember those flip down seats i put in last year? When you look behind them.. it's become a nursery for all the li'll snails.. cute!! Shhh.. don't wake them up, they're only babies Rode up to my old childhood playground ..everytime i come here it gets more extreme.. When i was a kid, I bust my front tooth on this track when i took a slam on my Kuwahara so i had to have it capped till i stopped growing and had it crowned when i got to 16.. when i was 20 i bust my ankle here.. but after writhing around in agony for a while, i kept riding till the sun went down.. chucked my bike in the back of my £550 Mk2 Fiesta and drove home (with a broken ankle).. the next day it was massive and heavily bruised so i went to get it x-ray'd then plastered.. it was my right foot so i couldn't press the accelerator in the car but rather than use public transport, i used one of the crutches they gave me to press the accelerator along with left foot breaking.. within a week, i had it down.. i was a much less responsible adult in those days ..saying that, i'd only been there for 5mins when i came off on the berm.. grazed my arm, my hip and my saddle.. thankfully, it was 9am so nobody was there to see it ..rode back home and made the sleepy teens so good old northern pancakes.. none of that American nonsense! ..walked down to Sharrowvale to pick my racket up from the shop ..the cat which lives in the pet shop ..spotted this lovely old E-Type out in the rain Ive gone for Luxilon Alu Power 125 Rough, strung at 52lbs if anyone is interested... No? ok, i'll move on.. ..a spot of crate diggin .. a little blast around the plantation this afternoon ..followed by a pint of Moonshine at the Norfolk arms.. featuring threadbare arm of JMC ..1 point

Some before and after shots of some more bag repairs for my girlfriend. She's in a wheelchair so she hangs them off the back and they get caught on things regularly. Since it's a power chair she sometimes doesn't realize a bag is caught till it's torn. The leather bag was super quick, just popped a couple rivets. Had to add a third to reposition an interior pocket since it was too many layers for the rivets I had on hand. The green canvas one has leather straps which had torn at three places. I had to be careful while sewing the straps back in place to make sure the needle went into the pre-poked holes. Added a box stitch too for added security, and popped in some more rivets to complete the look. Hopefully if I have to stitch this one back up again it's the fourth strap end that wasn't already torn that fails. The black canvas one had a huge tear which I darned. Had to unpick the stitches holding the strap down to be able to darn underneath, then sewed the strap back.1 point

The last of the best: snagged these 501s made in the US for EU market in 2000 for around 20 bucks. Fit is of course immaculate, they also have some nice fades started and I'll continue to wear them. To think that just 10 years later I bought my first pair 501s but at that point they were paper thin and made in Bangladesh. Edit: it is possible to enhance image for better quality.1 point
