  7. Regarding contest duration there is a strong indication for 18 months. I will let the poll open though. Next topic will probably be the denim we want to use. We will reject the option of Proximity Mill denim. Although Simone was already in contact with them before this idea was brought up, using their denim would increase the costs significantly (high price for the denim, shipping costs and customs fees). So we will run with a denim, acquired from/through Collect Mills.

  8. Wow! This is simultaneously one of the most amusing and most miserable things I’ve ever seen.

  9. excellent news on dates and denim: 18 months gives two autumn / winters and only one july/august (for those in northern hemisphere…) for example: 01 jan 2025-01 july 2026?

  11. Now that we're narrowing in on what the denim would be, I would say that a 13-14oz red caste from Collect would be perfect.

  12. Hey everyone! leaving for south america in the next few weeks so going thru my closet a bit, selling a lot of shirts, jackets (sz 36) and pants (29-30). Let me know if you want any closer photos, just wanted to get a couple quick ones to not stuff up the thread. Happy to take any reasonable offers. Thank you! Freewheelers Union Special Overalls, 30x34 - bought these new and wore them a couple of times to work, but never really found the stripe pattern worked for me. Inseam hemmed to 30". Beautiful details including one-piece fly, painted suspender buttons and lined cinch. $140 Waist 77cm Front Rise 33cm Back Rise 38cm Thigh 31cm Knee 24cm Hem 21.5cm Inseam 76cm Denime Wego/McCoys era jeans, W30 - i got these from roomtemplacroix a couple of years ago and never wore them, doesn't look like he did either. Nice, tightly woven denim that i'd guess at around 14oz, and a 60's-ish cut. There might be more info about them online but I'm not sure where to find it. $90 Waist 72cm Front Rise 28cm Back Rise 34cm Thigh 29cm Knee 23cm Hem 19.5cm Inseam 77cm Belafonte Herringbone Twill Linen/Cotton Workshirt sz 36 - bought this new a couple of years ago, wore maybe a dozen times and then washed and put away. This fabric is lovely, 62% cotton, 38% linen, really soft and dense, feels almost like brushed flannel, but I have a pair of pants in the same material and decided I need to keep one or the other lol. $150 Length 70cm Shoulder 41cm Sleeve length 62cm Chest 50cm Stevenson Overall Mechanic's Workshirt sz 36 - really lovely shirt featuring an indigo-dyed herringbone twill with contrasting indigo-dyed collar and cuffs. Just not planning on bringing it with me on the bike, so it's gonna go. Worn only a handful of times, still looks new and only slightly faded. $100 Length 67cm Shoulder 42cm Sleeve length 60cm Chest 46.5cm

  15. Didn't some of some of the Japanese brands used to sell jeans pre faded like that? Supposedly they were replicas of vintage examples worn by cow ropers who I guess spent a lot of time in a deep squat stance, bracing against the cow they had lassoed, hence the heavy creasing & fading on the backs of the knees.

  21. They are early. Like before he had selvedge denim and before he was doing any kind of back pocket stitch. By 2008 he had changed things and his stuff was more refined.

  22. Buzz Rickson's thermals are very good. I've cycled through a lot of BR stuff and the thermals are the item that has stuck over time. I wear 1 size smaller than my usual BR size. They are cheap (relatively) from Hinoya.

  24. Got this ONI coverall jacket listed on eBay UK with a £135 buy it now. Not sure if these are available still but rrp was around £350. Really nice jacket, fabric sort of is a cross between a denim and a super heavy cotton twill. Only selling as I’m too fat to button it up now.

  26. There's a bit of misinformation here.. The margins are not what you think they are. Some of the lowest margins internationally are Samurai, PBJ, and Fullcount. More importantly, It's not the international retailers doing this, it's the international distributors/agents. Take it from someone who's spent two decades working with Japanese denim brands; it's ALWAYS the distributors, not the retailers, which are behind these types of sales policy changes.

  29. A warehouse sweat probably won't blow you away right away. Modern mass produced sweatshirts from Champion and similar brands are not bad at imitating a quality feeling out of the box, compared to modern denim which doesn't feel much like real denim at all. I bought a Champion sweat last year for a football game and it feels great in the hand, not that different from a 401. The best qualities of warehouse's sweats mostly come out over time by allowing the garment to gracefully age. The sweat will hold its shape, resist pilling and tearing, the brushed interior holds its structure and continues to feel comfortable against the skin, and it will fade attractively along its seams. You have to love wearing it long enough for it to 'pay off' though. edit: I own a 403, a 450 and a 409. Agree with you that the pointy hoods on a lot of loopwheeled hoodies are unfortunate... obviously a different connotation in jp.

  38. 220XX-47 fit At the very slimmest of the spectrum of fits for me, but comfortable nonetheless. Wearing the FC 0105’s immediately prior to this pair probably emphasised that!

  39. They look great! The only thing i think they missed the mark on is the blank back pockets. i was expecting to see a pizza shaped arc, like these old real mccoys from back in the day, to match the theme. Either way, nice write-up.
