Blimey, I've never been that cutting edge. Better get on and wear it.

It looks like SS 2014 has a charcoal chambray version of the shirt, is that right? And is it a piece likely to find its way to the UK?

And I know Sunspel's convenient 'discovery' of the history of indigo and woad dyeing has been mentioned before, but I can't help thinking at their pricing (£195 for a tee) Tender looks remarkably good value: http://www.sunspel.com/uk/mens/indigo-and-woad/indigo-dye-t-shirt.html

^show us some photos!

yes that's right, there is a chambray chambray version for the next production. I'll have to check if Peggs & Son have ordered it- feel free to email me if you need more information.

Yesterday I took a trip to the pottery, to take a look at the current batch of mugs and beakers, and to collect some specials. I noticed a spare one of my mugs being put to good use  :)

I don't know if anyone will remember these Tshirt print illustrations from Spring/Summer 2011 (the prototype for the cuckoo shirt is on Tender Stores!), but I thought they'd be really nice as sgraffito plates:

^glad you like them, thank you!

Another new set of products went up on the Trestle Shop today, including a delivery from Morten , of For Holding Up The Trousers. As well as a restock of our original elasticated belts, he made 3 new designs- a camera strap, a camera wrist strap, and a pair of suspenders. All three were real collaborative designs, batted about by email for a couple of months. Here are some of our sketches- some rougher than others!:

First the camera strap. The idea was to have an elastic strap, with leather ends. The question was how to make a strong and neat connection between the different sections and a cord which can fix to a camera:

Next, Morten gathered together the materials and started some experiments:

I fitted the button fastenings at the bottom of the leather tab sections today, and sewed a red blanket elephant label into the back of each strap today, and here we go:

full length and wrist straps are on the shop now

The other new For Holding Up The Trousers project is a pair of suspenders. Obviously, Morten is the suspenders supremo, and he has a great range already (more here if people don't know his brand). I have a pair of his suspenders which I wear with my pair of our collaboration jeans, and they're lovely, but I don't always want to wear suspenders, and the hand-made ceramic buttons can be a bit fiddly to undo, particularly when you're wearing the jeans. So I thought it'd be nice to do a pair with quick-release fastenings (anyone who's worn suspenders under a jacket and needed to go to the bathroom will know what I'm talking about...) Morten used steel T bars on all three Swedish leather tab sections, and the English-woven elastic straps are fully adjustable with English sand-cast brass sliders.

Here are some making photos and the finished product:

A long story - but I ended up with two different sizes of Bill's type 990 flowerpot artists canvas blanket lined coat from AW11. Bill only made 9 of these.

I've eventually decided which size to keep - so the size 3 is now on ebay.

If you want to refresh your mind it's here:-

^thanks! here are a couple of photos of the master for the buckle. This is made of copper, and you can see the flux marks where the pieces have been braised together:

the engraving around the underneath of the front of the main loop is done with a laser, which gives very clean definition, which you need to get a good clear casting:

I've got some really interesting pictures to upload. Something really strange happened to my beloved woad dyed type 130 jeans. I haven't been wearing it in the summer. So when i picked it up 3 weeks ago again. To my surprise there was mold over the legs. Really strange. It was gaming there with all my other favorites and this was the only with mold over it. Strange.

Could that be the dye?

I'll upload a pic.

Nope. No drinks spilled on this one. Up until this point I had never washed it yet. I don't wash my denim. Only if there is no other way.

So I washed it and I'm wearing a lot again like always. Lucky me the colour didn't change much. I used a low cycle and the Mr Black stuff.

In a way it's strange that this only occurred to my jeans and not my 900 jacket or the vest. Both are woad dead as well. So something must have happened to my jeans.

^^strange! thanks for posting pictures, and I'm glad they're ok now, anyway. Actually I've had this happen a couple of times on my own jeans, although in both cases it was before I started Tender. Both times it was on jeans I'd not washed, which I'd had folded up in a cupboard for a long time, so I'm afraid to say it might be something not entirely hygienic… I guess denim acts as a kind of petri dish...

the jeans look great- any chance of some post-wash photos?

In other news, here are some nice JP magazine images of a restock of Taste Maker's specials:

This morning I dug out an old shirt, from the Autumn/Winter 2012 production, in heavyweight blue ticking. This is a size 3, and really I should be in a 4 these days, but I like how it looks a bit undersized. Haven't had any fit pics for a while, so:

The jeans are a new fit experiment, still working on it and it probably won't surface for a while yet…..

I'm more interested in the jacket. Bring it back!

Or at least make more shirts with the same fabric...
