X posts from Roy x Cone thread. Today was definitely my hottest day in these pants, if the temperatures stay high they'll be back in the denim box.

Last night was an author talk and Q&A, plus a Bowie tribute act.

I've honed my act. Last time, in Scotland, I made about 6 jokes and got two laughs. THis time, I made around 10 jokes and got at least 5 laughs. That's a 250% increase in productivity. The one about Bowie and Marc Bolan's penis size got the best reception. But my opening jape wondering whether I'd get anyone high on crack raiding the stage, as happened with an Iggy talk in Detroit, went down like a lead balloon. Need to work it up more.

THis was part of the Earls Court literary festival, out in west london. THe club had several smaller rooms, one of whihc was showing Labyrinth on a loop...

A decent turnout, not as many as Scotland but hey, there's more competition in London. Around 60 people with nothing better to do than listen to me blah... what a shock! I only will ever be an occasional visitor, but I can see why certain writers' lives revolve around festivals, all the free booze and food and nicely-spoken women in elegant black dresses.

And afterwards a tribute act called Let's Bowie. THey are based on 90s Bowie, covering old Bowie. If that makes sense. They were sweeties.The singer had a good 90s Bowie wig.

It was great, once my work was done, to hang out, just one beer, and finally chill a bit.

Finally, a cab all the way home. He went an interesting route... over the river at Lambeth - you can't see the Houses of Parliament, but you can see the London Eye and other buildings.

And then back thru South London - much of it along the Old Kent Road, always one of the more interesting gritty places, where traditionally they had lots of far-right pubs, gangster hangouts and boxing joints - and now it's all African food, and hair salons.

I especially liked this high-tech satellite installation shop...

After returning to Hong Kong, I met up with a friend in Causeway Bay to venture into Diagon Alley.

We first passed by King's Cross station

After a long escalator ride we made it

Inside were many witches and muggles hanging out (that suitcase is apparently from the time the Whooping Willow had a go at it)

Then we got hungry and went to eat cheap Boston Lobsters! I know it is totally out of the blue but we get 10 USD for a pound of lobster and it is eat as many as you can so it was a deal.

As we left we saw this guy: FREEEEEEEDOMM!

Tomorrow we visit Pixar's 25th anniversary exhibition so stay tuned.

started the day by taking the jawns down from their drying station, only for them to get a little rain on them taking the nephews out for another round of bowling.

Big roller, my nephew connor got 2 strikes in a row and almost a turkey.

no strikes for me this time, they whooped my ass AND made me pay for them.

Came home and Grandma made us grilled cheese and tomato soup.

My Mother in Law gave me afternoon off so I went thrifting:
