I'm looking at buying a pair of Samurai's' date=' but I cannot decide between s5000vx and the s0500xx. Anyone have an opinion on either?[/quote']

I own the 5000vx and my only complaint is the rise is pretty shallow, back rise especially. the s500xx has a little bit of a larger rise, but I don't like the taper. If I could redo it, I'd get the s510xx. maybe these are things for you to consider.

@blm14

Lol, at least she's cute! :D

ermm, not sure about sanskrit, but here in my country it means "faith"... :)

Wow, truth in one language and faith in another, some would consider them mutually exclusive.

hahaha I have a cat named satya:

You know it means "truth" in sanskrit?

Yup, truth, right, justice, etc... Part of my name too:)

The contrasting or not so contrasting meanings are pretty interesting too.

But yeah, back to samurai - I don't think you can go wrong with the 0500. The denim has an intense streaky fade and a nice texture, and the cut is one of more versatile ones I've seen. They can be worn in a number of different of silhouettes or styles.

Samurai S510 24oz size 31

All measurements BiG-style

Apologies up front for the grainy pics

Pre-soak:

waist - 15.75"

inseam - 36" (had them hemmed)

front rise - 11.5"

rear rise - 15.5"

thigh - 13"

knee - 9.5"

hem - 8.75"

Did a hot soak (hot water from the tap + 2 pots of boiling water) for about 90 minutes.

When they dried, waist was about 15", inseam was 34.75" - not much shrinkage there, so decided to do a hot wash (hang dry).

Post soak/hot wash:

waist - 14.5"

inseam - 34.75" (didn't shrink any more)

front rise - 11.25"

rear rise - 14.75"

thigh - 12.5"

knee - 9"

hem - 8.5"

Oddly, they seem to have shrunk a normal amount horizontally, but only about half what I'd expect vertically. I'd be interested to hear if others had a similar experience.

Yeah - sizing issues with lot 122***runs small...

but - good news - you can email the store [email protected]urself and they will provide a full sizechart..

besides - now also available in red cast

knot-hangmans-noose-black-backdrop-orange-nylon-rope-1-AJHD.jpg

but i´m still a big fan of the traditional hand dyed natural rope

rope-noose_1.jpg

a proper noose should have 13 loops (to make sure it's sufficiently heavy to snap your neck when you drop. that one wouldn't have enough "oomph" to snap the neck and would strangle the person being hanged.

i shouldn't know these things.
