had possibly the best italian i've had in london (or ever?) - flavourful, unpretentious, and yet remarkably complex and subtle.

octopus carpaccio with tomatoes and basil - carpaccio di polipo

malfatti with ricotta, walnuts and aubergine, topped with tomato puree and slow-roasted basil

tortelli with veal, parmesan and saffron filling

sadly forgot to take a picture of the dessert, got demolished too quickly. but it was a strawberry and mango lasagne with vanilla ice cream. the lasagne was topped with a thin and perfectly clear crust of sugar.

We went back to prune because Clinton st baking co waits was over an hour. Got in at prune about 30 minutes. It wasn't as good as the first time. They messed up the monte cristo.

we didn't wait because we made reservation one week earlier. But i can see why the wait is long. Restaurant was packed at 6. No empty seats at the bar either.

after hearing so much about this..reading it on the top list of everyone fav flavors..I just tried it. killed the whole thing in 10 mins. I am a believer
