The Sneakers we wear with our jeans

Picked up a pair of 992s, seems like New Balance is going heavier on this model this year.
Quite comfy, might get the core grey model eventually as well.

00 I think some of the pointy-ness can be attributed to the rubber apron running up quite high along the toe box.
Just gave them a spin today when going to the barber and they're very comfy. Whoever they're using to produce these in Japan make very nice rubber soles / insoles.
I'll give some different lace layouts a try!

Leg twist on my Resolute has passed the centre point and is heading ever further inwards

Yes the two pairs of high tops that I have are holding up very well.
I haven't been wearing them too much lately since it's getting warmer here and I prefer low tops in the summer.
The leather pieces along the back and eyelets is one of my favorite features.
I'm always keeping an eye out for any new colors that they release.

How is the sizing compared to maybe a converse or any other sneaker?

I'd say about the same as Converse, maybe half a size smaller.
I haven't worn any 70s in a few years, but the last pair I had were 11.5 and the TWC sneakers are size 12.
For what it's worth I prefer the fit and feel of the TW sneakers.

Nice^.. Sarah used to wear Superstars,  I always preferred Campus

A pair of hers poking out from flared Wranglers sometime in the 90s

Pretty disappointed in NB. These have lasted about 8 months and I've worn them roughly 3 times a week prob less in the winter. Are the made in UK/US more robust? Shame as they are so comfortable. I have a pair of Mizuno running shoes I ran a marathon in and are still my gym shoes despite being 6 years old. Still not falling apart...

I really didn't know Flower Mountain until it was brought up here some months ago. I definitely found them intersting but too playful for me.
But this version speaks to me :D

What are they saying and is it in German?

My one slight issue i have with this^ style of footwear, be it Asics, New Balance or what'evs is that most of them look like shit once they’ve been worn in for a few months, whereas a pair of Chucks, AJ1s, Vans for instance get better or should i say.. look no worse at each stage of wear.

Take Chucks (basketball / gym shoe style) for instance.. it doesn't matter how fucked this type of shoe gets.. they can be falling to pieces and still look great, you can wear a battered old pair of Chucks and dress them up with a good pair of jeans.. they can always be part of a dope looking outfit, whereas when NBs start to stain and yellow, they could still have years of wear left but even a good pair of jeans can't save them.. and by the time they do have holes, they just make you look down at heal, like you're long overdue a new pair of sneaks. :D

They can also make you look like a clueless suburban dad whose wife buys his shoes based on whatever’s cheapest in Sports Direct/TK Maxx. Not anyone on Sufu of course, who undoubtedly will have the swagger to pull them off, but you know, those other people…
