Ah yeah, both the v stitch and the triangle stitching would've been absent on the 66. The 66 looked like it fit you decently but it is quite slim. I feel like most people here would prefer the XX over the 66.

As for denim drama....I didnt know there was beef between the two...

I’ve found the xx much better fit than the 66 and the other one is it 505 I can’t remember

After promising to not buy another pair before the WoM contest starts, my willpower broke.
Stopped by SE Austin and grabbed a pair of the exclusive wide 34 cut. These feel like a proper pair of straight legged jeans compared to the XX's.
My old XX's feel like a slim-straight cut, and the rise is just a bit too low for my tastes these days. So this 34 cut is much more my speed.
The Boncoura denim is still great and has one of my favorite selvedge IDs. Also the 34 cut is a few inches longer, so I can wear these uncuffed or with a small double cuff.
Might give them another wash to see if there's any residual shrink. It's kinda crazy to think that I bought the XX's 7 years ago.

Wore the new Boncouras for a week, decided to give them a wash just to see if there was any additional shrink left.
They felt pretty starchy and there wasn't much puckering / roping, so expected to see a bit of shrink with our older washing machine.
Pre-wash measurements (o/w) after a week of wear:
Waist: 38 in.
Front rise: 12.5 in.
Back rise: 18 in.
Thigh: 14 in.
Knee: 10.5 in.
Hem: 9.75 in.
Inseam: 32 in.

And post warm wash, only shrunk back up in the waist and some additional inseam shrink which I was looking for:
Waist: 36.5
Front rise: 12.5 in.
Back rise: 18 in.
Thigh: 14 in.
Knee: 10.5 in.
Hem: 9.75 in.
Inseam: 31 in.

I was a bit surprised that SE doesn't offer a longer inseam when they now had the chance to customize. Ok, for a wide cut like these it might not be necessary but for the 66 and XX a longer inseam is the main problem for many people interested in Boncoura.

I just picked up a pair of black 66s. I'll post some pics. I love the jeans. So much. Was a curiosity purchase turned into a perfect fit.

66 black, size 31. I had no idea how versatile these would be. I slept on the black warp/white weft combo for way too long. Also, the cut of these is *chefs kiss*.

Guess I've been on a bit of a Boncoura kick lately, grabbed this pullover hoodie yesterday. Tried on both the 40 and 42, went with the larger size and shrinking it now.
Fabric isn't quite as beefy as the Freewheelers heavy weight fabric, but it's got a bit more texture. And sometimes those are too warm anyways.
Apologies for the crappy photos, pretty cloudy today. I'll get a fit pic one day here soon once it's brighter out.

Just a note to say that overcast days are the easiest conditions to reveal accurate textures of something, especially if you make your pictures outside or near a window in a neutral colored environment. Color is a bit of a different matter - but all else being equal it’s not a bad bet as well. There are other variables of course, exposure and white balance - but cell phones tend to do a decent job at both these days. 

Noting this because sometimes I don’t quite understand the knock on the conditions to make a photograph - if it’s cloudy out it’s fine - preferable even - if it’s too dark just expose for the subject and not the scene around it (ie on your iPhone make sure the exposure is locked/based on the person or garment as opposed to the background) Do I apply any of this for Sufu pics? Pretty much no, lol. But, photography is actually my craft.

Yeah, indirect natural light is as good as it gets. I take all my clothes photos outside on gray / overcast days (plenty of those around here, luckily). Avoid direct sunlight at all costs
