I'm looking at picking up up a pair of Viberg boondockers from you guys but one thing I'm confused about is the sizing. I know I'm a 10 in Viberg but I'm not sure whether the pair that you have left is a Viberg 9 or a Viberg 10,

I understand that I'm just not sure which one is the size that Viberg gave to Rivet and Hide and whcih one is the size that Rivet and hide added.

Hi. All our UK sizes correspond with Viberg sizes. If you order a UK size 10 in Viberg boots you'd have ordered a size 10 Viberg Boot.

Whenever we get an online order for boots or jeans, especially from a new customer, I always check with them that the right size choice has been made. Get in touch if you need any more advice on the Boondocker. Thanks.

The Flat Head Horsehide Cafe Racer jacket is made from a 1.3mm thick equine leather from the esteemed Shinki tannery in Himeji, southern Japan. The jacket is veg tanned with part aniline finish. Both dye and pigments are combined for durability and to maintain the leather's character.

 

The jacket looks, feels and smells impressive. It features an original iron Flat Head buckle and brass zip. The heavy canvas inner pocket bags are printed with The Flat Head logo. Of course, this cannot be seen but that does not matter to The Flat Head and is just one token of its remarkable attention to detail.

 

James is wearing a size 42. He is 188cm tall and weighs 83 kg.

Stevenson Chief Native Shirts & Shorts, Saddle Horn Jackets & T shirts

 

The Stevenson Native Chief Shirts use a custom woven three dimensional native pattern cotton fabric made by a Jacquard loom. The open neck shirt with concho buttons is based on a 1950s design, but updated to a more modern fit.

This is the shirt for driving a Cadillac Eldorado down the Californian coastline listening to Eddie Cochran but it's certainly suitable for more prosaic pastimes as well. There are indigo shorts made in the same fabric. We also have the indigo dyed discharge printed Paisley Hood Shorts based on the Khaki chino . Anyone considering hanging up their denim on these hot and humid summer days need not compromise on style any longer. 

 

The Saddle Horn is a work jacket by Stevenson and has been entirely stitched with a single needle. The front pleats are late 19th century design and the one smiley front pocket a uniquely Stevenson feature. The jacket has a cinch back and comes in the signature green line 14 oz. indigo denim and an indigo plaid fabric.

 

The navy/white Border T shirt uses Memphis cotton and is a slim fit. Note the invisible chest pocket stitching. Henley's from this Japanese label are always in demand. The short sleeve version comes in a cool and breathable waffle fabric. We also restocked the Twin Pack Loopwheeled Cotton T Shirts in white and graphite.

The RH15 jean is a custom slim tapered fit we designed exclusively for the store with 3sixteen.

We chose a 15 oz, left hand twill, white line selvedge denim by Kuroki in Okayama. The denim itself is crunchy, rope-dyed in indigo with a slight grey cast, and is slubby. We know it is going to fade very well.

 

The mid-rise jeans are sanforized and feature hidden rivets and a RH15 Tanner Goods thick leather patch.

They also come with a generous 37.5" inseam. The gradual taper from the thigh ends below the knee, so there will be no change to hem width below 33" inseam length if alterations are required on our Union Special.

Last week Atsu Tagaya, owner and designer of Stevenson Overall Co visited us at the store. He had with him a well used pair of his own jeans: 727 La Jolla. This 14 oz. denim is custom woven by the Kuroki Mill in Okayama Japan. It is a slubby fabric with a subtle greencast undertone. The jeans have been single needle stitched which is incredible when you see how precise the constructional stitching is. You can see how the leather backed iron fly buttons create their own unique fade.

Iron Heart has taken 17 oz. Japanese indigo selvedge shirt/jacket with side pockets and coated it in a black sulphur dye. This process gives the denim deep blue and black tones with hints of purple and reds. The overdye eventually wears out. The beauty of the process is the unique fading evolution the garment goes through by wearing and washing. It gives the fabric a wonderful patina.

Along with a restock of the Wild Child tan wallets we now carry the FH70 produced by the highly skilled Stockburg craftsmen; the leather goods wing of The Flat Head. The leather is a veg-tanned cowhide which has been heavily oiled. The mid-sized wallet has been entirely handsewn. It comes with a sterling silver wallet rein ring and features yellow pigskin lining. 

 

We have introduced leather bracelets with silver clips. The Cool Western Bandana by The Flat Head and Real Japan Blues celebrate their entire raison d'etre.

Our first collaboration with Pure Blue Japan combines the ever popular slim tapered fit with a substantial 24 oz. version of the X011 jean with a grey weft and left hand twill weave. The indigo dyeing processes of PBJ are a closely guarded secret but we can guarantee both an exceptionally slubby deep indigo fabric and a pair of faded jeans over time that are truly remarkable.

This jean is limited in numbers and we have seen huge interest. We are making it available by pre-order and expect delivery in late September.

Should we size these 24oz exaclty like we would the regular 011/013s? A 33 fits me perfectly in this cut (for the 14oz)

No worries but just to clarify we expect these jeans to size exactly like other slim tapered PBJ jeans. We'll publish exact size charts once they arrive in London and allow any pre-order customers to switch size

We shot some photos of the PBJ X011 we have on display at the store. They belonged to Neil, a good friend of Junior. He had never worn raw denim but when our first PBJ delivery arrived during our pop up store at Apartment 58 in April 2013 he bought a pair to support our fledgling venture at the time. They now sit in our denim archive cabinet at the London store along with pairs from The Flat Head, Steel Feather, Iron Heart and other brands.

 

Our forthcoming collaboration with Pure Blue Japan will be a 24 oz. version of the same denim. We can only imagine at this stage how this new and exclusive fabric will age over time.

Iron Heart, specialists in heavy selvedge denim, has been selected by Yamaha to create the denim inspired Yard Built motorcycle. “What I wanted to achieve was a beautiful café racer that fits perfectly into the Iron Heart universe,†commented Shinichi Haraki. “The bike is designed to be for a mature rider, not a kid. My inspiration came from 70s and 80s Japanese and European bikes that look like real bikes. Nothing has been modified or added that makes it shout more than it should, there is no design influence without function, it’s a real bike for grown ups.â€

 

On Friday 11th September we will hold a meet and greet event at our Windmill Street store. The bike, Haraki-san, Sarina and Jiro, and the IHUK crew  will be all be there. The bike will remain in the store for several weeks.

The Flat Head 1002 jean is the slim tapered version of the 1001 in 16 oz. selvedge denim.

For those of you familiar with the 3xxx denim this is similar to the 3002 in fit.

The main difference between the 14.oz Pioneer (3xxx) denim is in the feel: the 16 oz. feels a bit rougher and the whiskers and honeycombs become really defined after just one day of wear. The intense indigo fades to powdery blue over time.

The first winter flannels for 2015 arrived today. UES custom weave their own flannel fabrics on shuttle looms in Okayama, Japan.

They are distinguished by the acorn pocket design and ivory palm nut buttons grown on equatorial trees.

 

The flannels are 100% cotton, with a brushed lining and rinsed once so won't shrink. The main body seams are chain stitched.

This year they appear in two colourways: Wine and Brown.
