^Supposed to be a bargain? The LVC store & most places in the US have them for $250.

BTW- didn't they try to bump the price for raw 501s up to over $300 at some point? Has LVC actually made an overall price reduction for their jeans?

I do like the red Levis/Winchester shirt. Too pricey though, and too small for me anyways. Would be nice if some of their size XL shirts wear actually big enough for a size 48 chest.

The hunting vest is comical. I can just see some anti gun, anti hunting, big city douche running around in that thing, proud of how tough and rustic he thinks he looks, but the thought of killing an animal makes him cringe. And Union made, those aren't "bullets slots" they're shotgun shell loops.

...............so true! and about the Levis/winchester shirt. i don't know if Levis originally played any role in that but i can tell you that pattern is genuine and dates to the early 60's. my Dad had a canvas winchester brand hunting jacket with that exact same cloth in the lining. i did a double take when i saw that shirt because i saw that exact same fabric for years on his jacket. sadly it was worn out from heavy use and thrown out years ago.

i think they did. i remember sourcing around when i wanted to pick up some 47s a while back and there were certainly a few sites pricing them at >$300. i always shop sale but after a few months it seemed that the prices went back to the $260–$280ish range.

Not sure about $300, most places seemed to go up to $275 but Unionmade was always at $250 for the raw.

I like the look of the 'Dry Scraped' 47's about the best distressing I've seen in awhile but $350 is just taking the piss. I would bet those will be on heavy discount come the end of the season.

That's pretty damn cool to see a print you recognize, that I'm sure brings back warm memories, showing up as part of LVC today.

In germany you have to pay € 250 for a pair of rigid 55's (cultizm). This is 360 USD.

I agree, it looks good, probably because compared to some of the other rinses they didn't try to get too carried away with it. Thing is, for that extra $100, you're paying for what you could get on your own with a couple trips through the washer and less than six months of wear.

speaking of those i snatched up the "one i love" 47's from this fall, i actually got them on sale price through mistake i think, anyways i really like them.. i always wanted a pair of 47's but was weary of getting sizing on point with rightful cause, these are some mean, lean hugging jeans! ;-)

min2max, how are those chinos?

haven't really worn them yet tbh, that super high-waist demands a pretty fit abdomen which i am currently working on (the last button especially!) but i'm confident i'll get there eventually so bare with me!! :o

What happened to when the 501xx 1947 were $175? I remember few years back I got a pair at DenimBar for $175 - StyleForum discount

that was nice while it lasted, pretty sure any discounts that deep are long LONG gone... I feel like DB almost lost, or did lose their account w/ APC for discounting NS. Maybe it was farinelli's I can't remember.

Those are definitely not LVC. However, they seem pretty good. Cone Mills selvedge denim, made in USA, shrink to fit, etc. maybe in the future, they might come out as LVC 2011 501.. who knows.. Those could be an alternative to 1947 501 but I'd pay 40 more bucks and go with LVC. Plus they only have 32L..

Thanks for all the info guys. I'm going to give these a wash this week and another in a month or so, then do a hem. right now I can deal with a cuff. And I love the fit.

The seat could stand to shrink a bit, but overall I'm happy with them.

for me they'd look better unrolled one roll. I like the hem to hit the top of the shoe.

Especially when you sit down. How high do they ride up your leg like that?

I like the hem to hit the top of the shoe.

A fleeting glimpse of the ankle worked for Steve McQueen et al. Now I've pissed off the supertrash crowd with my stomping-Roy-cuffs, i'm really looking forward to getting some shorter jeans paired with shoes, exactly like that...

(but I would get them hemmed and have a single cuff, one inch, it looks sleeker.)

Not 100% happy with how it turned out, but I was encouraged to post this picture of my "ratty" 55s anyways. Too bright outside yesterday, so I tried taking them in the basement under fluorescent lights. Color isn't too far off for that light. Had to put a bigger patch on the left leg, covering up the one I put on there earlier. Both whiskers opened up and were tearing across the leg, and the area in between them was getting very thin and it was only a matter of time before it let go. Funny that the patch has only been on there less than two weeks and the lower whisker has creased into the patch and is starting to wear.

Fit is great! I tend to prefer 66s be hemmed and left a hair on the short side, but those look very good rolled up.

im not realy sure about lvc sizing , would going tts be ok for 44's , not realy sure what year there from so thank for any help

I've seen 44's that run about 2" over tagged size, and pairs that run just over tagged. I'd say if you're interested in buying some, I'd definitely get actual measurements before purchasing. They seem to vary from season to season.

1 1/2 to 2" in the sleeve and body length. The body width shouldn't shrink up a large amount.

Thanks much!

So true. My pair (hmmm, I guess from 08) was really big , tagged size 32x34, if I remember right they measured at least 34 x 36 raw. But after two or three soaks they shrunk a lot, now they measure 32 x 32 and fit slim but perfect. Ask for measurements is da way to go!

I guess this is what Paul T calls 'ground hog day' :) ALWAYS ASK FOR ACTUAL MEASUREMENTS.
