alright guys thanx, like i said before, ive been in apc for a while and need help with the sizing, but whatever..... and i did read every page, and all the fit advice i read was "just soak em" i wanted to buy them right so i didnt have to soak them right off the bat. but whatever....

I don't know about you, since you might be superman or more of a man than I am. But, I wouldn't want to wear them raw and unsoaked. They would be too stiff and be uncomfortable. Soaking not only shrinks the jeans it also softens them up a little bit to make it a little more comfortable.

B.D. i asked an honest, legitimate question about if i was going to buy the right size, i didnt ask anyone to explain anything to me or anyhting like that. i was just asking if i had the right idea.... yes or no would have been fine from all you guys who have owned the jeans already. i would have been more than helpful if this was the apc thread or you needed a comparison.

your question was just obtuse and showed a complete lack of understanding of how raw denim behaves. this information is easily found elsewhere.

raw fh jeans shrink about an inch around the waist on first wash/soak (give or take a quarter inch, depending on wash/soak temperature). after this, the waist will stretch back out by about the same amount with continued wear.

my personal opinion; if you are a true 33 inch waist, get a tagged size 33 (really 34 blah blah)...

am i the only one with indestructible arcs on my 3001s? They're still strong but i don't see them disappearing for at least another couple of months. It seems as though the threads on them are really thick but i see peoples arcs getting destroyed and even the 310 peoples are getting destroyed.

on a side note, i need to start washing them alot more. the denim is getting thin everywhere and holes are forming especially in the stacks

SEXFH05 approx 6.5 mths of wear. 2 washes, 2 soaks

just after the 2nd wash today

none other that i remember.

machine wash was most recent if it matters. i wish they werent so contrasty but in my opinion, the point of wearing raw denim is so that it fades to your life style so i guess its pretty cool.

They'll stretch back to their presoak measurements in the thigh and waist. Depends what you do in them... since I bike a lot, the thighs stretched a bunch.

I think they shrink at least 2.5 inches everywhere. the inseam starts at 37 and after ends up at about 34. with a hot soak.

I picked up a pair of used F380's. they measure 36 in the inseam, but I need to get them hemmed. I'm 5'8 and my normal inseam (slight break, no stack at all) is a 30. These are a size 34 so they aren't super skinny below the knee. What do you think I should get these hemmed to if I want to do a small cuff. Maybe about 1.5 inches or so.
