  1. I bought myself a house in a town in the blue ridge mountains. I’m happy.

  2. earlier this week. Rick Owens copying Oakley, Helmut Lang copying Fred Perry from 1997 I think and Helmut copying Levi’s from the 00’s as well, but the wescos are real. Been recovering from surgery this summer and have only been fading a lovely pair of black warp/grey weft drkshdw jeans… I’ll have to make a post in Unknown Non-Japanese Brands when I get around to taking pics

  3. Bought this beauty. My ‘grail’ acoustic guitar. Martin D-28. I think it’s from around 2018. In my 25 years of playing, I’ve purchased a few nice electric guitars but never a higher end acoustic. I’d been casually looking for a D-28 and then a family friend mentioned he was selling this one. He’d been gifted it by a family member but always found it too large to comfortably play. He sold this to me so he could get a 000-sized alternative and it worked out well for all of us. Being able to buy a used guitar whilst knowing how well it had been cared for was an opportunity I couldn’t miss! Looking forward to holding on to this one forever.

  8. Since I’m here I’ll share my Leica m10-d. This is, for my purposes, the best digital camera ever made. I could go on about why but I won’t. Maybe tied with the m10 monochrome (which I also use). I got this awhile back for a great deal and it had barely any shutter actuations on it. A gem of a find. It’s always laying around the house somewhere because I tend to use it every day or close to it. There are newer cameras with better specs etc but they’re not better cameras.

  10. Lost a ton of weight in Japan and fortunately fit into my pair again, which also coincides with me wanting to wear slimmer cuts lately. I ordered mine around 2020, a '37 cut with a modern taper (like 2000's 501's) so I might be breaking them in again. Glad to finally get around to it!

  11. Thanks for sharing man - these look great and I'd never heard of this brand before. Currently have my tape measure out sizing them up against another pair. Think I might go for it!

  12. Yup, releases hit stores in November or so, it's super super limited as they only allowed each retailer to buy 50 pieces of each item. We have jackets and jeans coming from the collection at our stores.

  13. Not the best fit pics here but happy with these. The drape particularly at the back is really good. I've had to Japanese cuff though as too long despite the hemming by FC. I should have asked for more off as hadn't taken the rise in consideration. Maybe a wash will knock a bit off the lenght. Super comfortable. Totally get why these are so popular.

  16. Haha yeah this exactly, happens to me every time! Average 20k steps per day, smaller portion sizes, stopped working out (lost muscle mass), overall heat killed the appetite compounded by being there for over a month! Goal is to live there permanently by end of year, so hoping to keep off the weight long term

  21. Meanwhile, patched over the opening to the left front pocket earlier this week with fabric from the cut off hem of one of my Tender Co. shirts, dyed w/ Prussian blue. I’ve stitched over a few seams, previously, but this is the first real repair—almost always is, for me. I really love how the pocket bag denim is fading; it’s a beautiful rich blue. Plus: photos before the upcoming wash, I think no. 5 or 6?

  23. The (now) annual Dad and lad weekend away in the Peak District, infamous OO Soul country Quick pit stop en-route at Porter Coffee on Sharrow Vale road - £17 for 2 butties and £1 for parking - how much! Hardly a Sheffield accent to be heard, southern tones aplenty - gentrification of S-codes? Took the WoMs for a walk around Bamford Edge... totally staged pic looking out over the Hope Valley It's a strictly carnivorous weekend - we packed 4.4kg (yes I weighed it) of ribeye, T-bone, lamb... will we get through it all is the question And a sauna to finish the day off...

  26. It's weird for me too. Some threads—"Nice Things" for example—it takes me to the newest reply when I click on the title. The "Self Edge" or "The Flat Head" thread, it takes me to the page before while other threads take me to the top of the latest page. I wish it would just take me to newest unread across the board. Interestingly, the SE and TFH replies per page are way more than any others so I think there is a bug for me.

  28. I don’t use AI for my fades, actually I roll around in my backyard - don’t bother picking up after my dogs, or trash from my home-improvement projects because the fecal matter and debris help speed up the epic fades on my raw Japanese selvedge denim. Then when I’m ready for a wash I head to the aquatic park in Berkeley for a dip. Then 2,000 deep lunges to dry them off These fades were hard earned … 200 hashtags

  44. Looks wonderful MJ! It's not gentrification.. it's always been a fancy-pants neighbourhood.. back in the late Victorian period, wealthy steel barons (the finance-bros of their era) fled the pollution of the east-end seeking out the fresh air of the Peak District.. building their houses in the S10 / S11 districts.. Old photos show kids walking to school nr Sharrow Vale in top hat and tails.. even 20yrs ago, S10 was still considered one of the most affluent postcodes outside Kensington and Chelsea. Regarding the accent.. My immediate neighbours are from Hackney, Lowestoft, Belper, Devon, Sydney, Taiwan and Holland.. so not many earthy Sheffield accents there .. the lead singer of the Arctic Monkeys lived just a stones throw from where you're eating your sandwiches.. so entirely faux-Sheffield accent Sadly i'm not one of the winners from all this postcode-prosperity.. when i bought my first house.. i desperately wanted to get out of Sheff.. it was just depressing, most of my old friends had either died, been incarcerated or sectioned due to the heroin boom of the post rave years.. We could have bought the tiny house we live in now for less money than the massive barn conversion we bought out in the sticks.. When our boy came along.. he would walk to his junior school through the farm across the street, stroking lambs enroute, it was idyllic but having been to a god-awful secondary school myself, i was determined to send my kid to a great secondary.. which meant moving back into Sheff and into S10 / S11.. but after the austerity of the Cameron / Osborne years a lot of house prices stagnated, ours included.. it took us 4yrs to sell it, we had 8 viewing during that time, ..i had to drop the price by £70k to secure a sale.. Austerity had no effect on the middle-class folks of S11 which meant the house we bought had 130 viewings in the first week and i had to pay £17k over the asking price.. so i was already £87k down before we moved in .. with Sarah's health issues, she wouldn't have been able to get a mortgage so i had to use my savings to pay off the old mortgage and start a new one from scratch under my name.. which is why i'm currently at work on a Saturday afternoon.. i'm overpaying like a mofo tho!.. i'm equally determined to pay it off while i'm in my 50s ..

  45. I was fortunate enough to order a pair from Ono-san, and they remain among my favorite jeans. Prior to that, I had been messaging him on Instagram for quite a while without receiving a response. After I received my order, we kept corresponding on Instagram for some time, about books, jazz, color theory.

  47. Thanks...think it was last year 2024. I got it from Hoosier last May, I was in Kyoto and got some stuff from there in person -some of which was old season but that was a new arrival. Cool store to visit IRL lots of crazy older FW and Barnstormers pieces, pretty sure I saw that Lee Marvin belt the Duke made for him hanging up in there too.

  49. Everyday drivers. Right pocket shredded due to everyday pocket knife usage. Will have to repair. Rear pocket rivets trying to eat their way through. Really enjoying the weight of this denim; has truly made wearing jeans in the summer bearable. I just gave them their second wash this weekend, and here they are after air drying: I gotta figure out best way to tackle the pocket. Looks like everyone’s patch design has disappeared, so sad about it! Would be a cool graphic for Simone to put on a t-shirt though! 👀 lovely seeing all of the pics and adventures of you guys. Will try to update more
