Never seen the design on the second model before. The jimping at the top of the blade had me a bit confused, but it seems it adds grip for the peak to be used as a glass breaker?

any recommendations for a nice small pencil case/wrap that can still hold a lot of stuff?

i dunno if this will be very helpful, but here are a few I like:

just a piece of leather embossed with some mildly useful stuff, nothing special, but i still quite like it

expensive and doesn't hold that much, small and has nice leather though

really really cheap, holds a shit load of stuff. looks pretty nice for the price. i could probably ship you one if you can't find one in the US

it's the Spyderco Gunting (or at least, a knockoff). gunting is tagalog (filipino) for "scissor" and it also refers to a limb destruction/disarm technique/approach in eskrima (a FMA)

Since this is EDC and general survival preparedness, I just want to plug this book:

Have only skimmed/read a few chapters, but pretty good book so far. Has some great chapters on how to carry people/spinal injuries/maulings/piercings. Useful for the kind of people who like having multitools and knives in their pockets.
