it's been a while

1 year and 9 months

lotsa washes

a lot of grease/oil/fish slime/blood and other shit that I can't get off

numerous holes starting to appear, crotch already repaired once but another hole is starting to appear..

Thanks... gotta get used to a more vintage / 50s cut after the 710 but I am confident that I'll love them. The constructuion is fine and they seem to bleed a bit (on the inner pockets for example).

I did indeed take measurements, but just for a quick info, no scientific approach:

Pre / Post:

waist 89cm / 88cm (soaking with hanger in the waist to prevent shrinkage)

hem 23 cm / 22.5 cm

inseam 101,5 cm / 94-95 cm

Front Rise ~30 cm pre & post.

@Flo_ soak periodically to temper the cotton threads. the denim is tough & fabulous, but the thread seams to be its weakest.

Thanks for the hint. Had to stitch my 710s every three weeks, hope it's not that bad on these. But the c´general con struction is flawless so far.

this is a continuation of the conversation that was started in the contest thread regarding ah long's comments that the fading can reach a plateau. I just wanted to share my similar experience:

Just washed my pair since maybe January? This disgusting NYC summer has really made them worn in and they are literally disintegrating. With the elements brutally breaking them down, and with me wearing them daily, you would think that the contrast and fade has gotten even more awesome since January right? Nope, as far as I can tell, the fading hasn't been progressing in a linear pattern and they definitely have plateaued.

if you compare these to the pics from a few pages back, these look darker but that's only because of the difference in lighting. Aside from that, they are almost exactly at the same stage of fading as they were in January.

threads on the eternals are smaller gauge than the 710s, so worse, i'm afraid

'read somewhere that it was intentional [ie, by design] to get the more vintage evo.

No, definitely not. The rise is higher and even if they're tapered they are not as slim as 66. I think they're pretty similar to my LVC 44, or even more like a 55.

Yes, but not before tonight. The 66s I've tried on so far were a lot shorter in the rise and tighter on the hip. They measure at least 1,5" more than a 66 would in the same size i think. But I will shoot you some pics and then you can judge.

sorry but those look like a modified 66 cut cause of the knee buldge and how the lower leg rest on the hem ! good fit though!

Does anyone know if the 811 fit is like a levi's 501 fit?

I have heard that it is, but the "mid-rise, tapered" description always throws me off...

not really, the 811s have a wide hip flare that makes them feel almost like a tapered fit because there's so much room in the seat. None of my 501s have that much room in the butt, crotch are.

811s__ you either have the body shape/"built" for the cut or size down & stretch the waistband

mosdef not for skinny folks who want a close fitting.

^ I think you can. Mine stretched back to above raw state. However, if you (like me) prefer a comfy fit, go TTS.

It's heavier, probably around 17oz. or more...

IIRC it was said that the regular 10 years anniversary models (872, etc.) are around 18oz.
