The Evolution of Jeans: Pictures, Scones and Tea

honestly i would rather see a pair of regular stf levis than another pair of apcs of nudies. apcs in my opinion look cheap and i had a pair and they also felt cheap. nudies remind of all the euro bullshit i see hanging around new york (i know all this talk of closing/opening the boarders has a lot to do with people coming up from the south but seriously take a look at all the shit coming over from europe...the euro girls are fine but who keeps letting in all these bullshit eurodudes...DISGUSTING) and that pocket stitching is horrible not to mention their whole image. at least with the stf they have classic styling and really haven't changed that much since their introduction. they might not be super sweet selvage denim or be made with the finest indigos but hey they're $20 (on sale) and to me seem much like a much better deal then a pair of $150-$250 nudies or apcs.

bottom line is that this messageboard was not made for you, you can say what you think but so can others and they are also allowed to post pics of their jeans. Every once in a while someone who wants to dictate exactly what is OK and what isn't stops by here, and it's equally annoying every time.

Maybe we should have everyone who wants to post pics of their jeans go through you for an approval?

Hey rnrswitch what belt is that? btw awesome tats!

The belt is actually one I had made by a friend who fashions leather ware. (what is the name of that type of person... leathersmith?) It is a combo of leather belt, Red Mood style wallet, and leather braid (chain). i love them. The belt is about 5 years old and is looking nice and worn in.

Also, sorry for the size of the pictures. I did that as a special occasion for someone who hates eurotrash jeans.

On that note, I have taken my chill pill this morning and all is well.

Miz,

Pics of canes coming up. I washed them this weekend and I am waiting for them to dry.

awesome jeans keska! i like the rain wash idea, ive been thinking of doing that as my second wash on my apc's. i intend never to let them see the inside of a washing machine, only natural elements of the water cycle for them

but keska, did you sandpaper? (im not convicting you as some people do, just asking)

D'Artisans sd-103... they're 8 months and worn every day. washed first at 3 months, and then every month or 2. since they started out almost black the color is still dark.

they are actually darker than that. here are more pics:

I am very dissappointed Geowu... I wanted to see some pigs. J/K... kinda.

Those jeans are looking amazing. The hardware on those looks indestructible. You have dedication. Only one pair of jeans over 8 months. I get too tempted.

Nudie RR dry greycast

its been about 3months of wear, ive had them since nov. but only recently started putting serious wear into them, with the hot weather i cant wear them every day as much as id like to , but they're coming along well

the honeycombs arent as defined in these pics due to the fact that i hadnt starched them for about 2-3 weeks!

The honeycombs look right compared to the wear on the rest of the jeans. I wouldn't starch, because if you do your honeycombs will look over defined compared to the rest of the wear on the jeans.

Oh my god!! I am very, very impressed. Makes me want one. It also shows that jeans can still look amazing even if it was washed before the 6 month "lock-up".

Hats off to Geowu. One of the best I've seen...probably next to partytaco's Sorahikos.

Indeed.

I will post pics from my Edwins here sometime. I got them in April or May, and starched alot and all. After two weeks I was working on this skate competition in one stand putting up completes and after first day I noticed that the griptape had eaten my jeans! I have some serious whiskering in my inner thighs and knee area (I was sitting cross legged in couch while assembling...). Well, maybe you shouldn't do that with heavily starched dry/unwashed jeans on... Now I've been using them constructing two sauna buildings, skating and stuff. Really abusing them.

Starch is ok maybe once so that the creases will form quickly but I won't use it after that anymore (could as well sandpaper... ;) )

is the SD-003 a LHT version of the 103? I didn't know such a thing existed (it doesnt' show up on SDA's jeans chart)!
