The 'Last Resort' denim is very nice. Haven't handeld the heavier version, just the regular one. I have it on my rebuilt jeans and had it on the 301XX. The one-wash version from Jealdo was a lot softer than what my wash at home did to the fabric. I remember the fit on the 301XX to be pretty straight/slim in the top block. I was quite a bit lighter back then, so a W36 would probably my choice today.

And yeah, Jelado seems to do well in Japan but is not as widespread in the West.
Sometimes it's vague to know why some brands do better than others allthough they offering basically the "same" repro stuff.

I thought the link you posted was really interesting about how they examined deadstock 501xx and their results in trying to replicate.

I know other brands examine old levis but Jelado's in depth blog about the process was really cool.

At the moment Bears are out of a 34 in the 301xx so I will need to wait. Well it's between this and Sugar Cane 55z which is also out of 34. The arcuates are swaying it for me though with Jelado

Would echo b_F that what they're doing is interesting and should be more popular outside of Japan, but for whatever reason (probably the age of the brand compared to the established Osaka 5 etc.) I haven't deep dived. Even when I visit Tokyo I always manage to skip the shop even though it's in one of the most accessible areas on one of the busier shopping streets 😅 I would say their work with shirting and jackets is particularly admired in Japan though

I’ve tried on a few of their shirts, and have been looking for their 41 trousers in salt and pepper for a while. The quality is there, and I think they do a lot of unique stuff, that other brands don’t even come close to (like their shoes and boots offerings).

It seems that most their non core items are sold out pretty quickly, which might be one of the causes to why theyre not as popular as bigger brands.
